It wouldn't have surprised me if there was. Louisville is a pretty big UPS hub and Chengdu isn't a "hole in the ground". Chengdu (the capital of Sichuan province) has between 4 and 5,000,000 people putting it just about the size of Atlanta and is a pretty big manufacturing center.

I bet if you lived in the city of Chengdu (population 11 million) you'd call the entire state of Kentucky (pop 4.3 million for the entire state) a "hole in the ground."

I ordered on 4/6 with ship estimate of 4/27 delivery on 4/28.
On 4/20 around 3pm EST mine went prepared for shipment. And my ship date stayed the same but the delivery date slipped to 5/2.
Just got my shipping email from apple this morning and the email says it delivers by 4/26. But I'm hoping for 4/25.
So hopefully you see some movement soon.
My ipad has been at the new jersey sorting facility since 2am... I'm at work so iwonder if it is being delivered to my house in pa. That's usually how fed ex is. Gets to NJ early then La around 7am. Then delivers. I thought it was weird that it flew from Alaska straight to NJ
From the looks of it, the plane diverted to Osaka due to mechanical reasons. Be happy your iPad didn't wind up in the drink with thousands of others.
See that goes to show you.....one shouldn't live in a third world country for as long as I have LOL, you start assuming things.... however I do know there are very few aircraft that could make it, and it probably would require a BUNCH of Ipads and such to fill one up to make it economically feasible.

Well, if I were to get my iPad today, it would be in the next 15 minutes to make the 10:30 target time. I don't think it's going to happen today, folks. If your iPad is still in transit right now, you're not getting it today. I guess in the meantime, I'm going to dream of enjoying my books, magazines, music, and movies on my soon to be iPad.

I'm having mine shipped to work, so Saturday wouldn't be an option for me anyway. I would have really loved to have this thing for Easter weekend to show off to the fam---some of my relatives really want one, but they wanted to mess with mine first to see if they like it. (They could just go to Best Buy and try one, but you know........)
Shipping 4/28 and deliver 4/29. How can that happen if it hasnt even gone to PFS? Delivery date is 7 days away. As I've seen with others here it usually goes PFS for a day or so and then ships. I just don't see apple getting the delivery date. Anyone else feel this way?

I ordered a white wifi 3g ATT engraved on April 6th and got a shipping date of 4/27 with 4/28 delivery to upstate NY and nothing has changed at all as of this moment. It is for my 5/1 birthday and I am doubting I will see it by then. If there is no movement soon, I am going to cancel.

I wouldn't go THAT far. Some of us have been waiting since mid/late March, so relatively speaking you got a good ship time. If you're going to go and brave the lines, you may not get it as quickly.
It just sucks to wait. An iPad fits perfectly into my work/home life so I am extra anxious to get this thing. Doing everything on my phone is becoming a pain.
My ipad has been in Anchroage for nearly 24 hours. do you think its possible it could get to chicago before sunday?? I'm hoping it takes a direct flight to o'hare within a few hours.

great googly moogly, I got mine in 2 days!!!! I worship Apple and FedEx. I did call Apple to upgrade to 2 day delivery for additional $10 and they gave it to me free. Ordered 4-3 white 32 wi-fi! Sold my iPad 1 and am in love with 2. Applied my Phantom Skin to the back and it went on flawlessly.

I'm in my second month of waiting for my ATT model. Ordered March 19, hope to get it Monday...one whole day early of the expected delivery date.
It seems to me that very few people have received their iPads *after* the promised date, and most of those seem to be shipping issues, particularly once they get stateside. A few weeks ago people were getting them 7 to 10 days early....but at least folks don't seem to be getting them *after* the promised date!
Mine's been "in the air" from China en route to Lousiville, KY (UPS) since yesterday. Must be a loooong flight or else UPS just doesn't update much. So frustrating...
