Eh

Well my iPad was supposed to be delivered today April 26( I ordered it April 4th) my ups update says as of 10:17 pm eastern time : Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong 04/25/2011 9:49 P.M. Pkg shipped; delivery being scheduled
So I called apple, they said it was scheduled to arrive today, they said if I don't receive it in 3 days from today, they'll open up and investigation.
So I called UPS, they said it's been delayed, apparently about a dozen( including mine have been delayed) the rep told me he didn't know why. So I am effin mad as hell, I wait a month and now I have to wait more?!?!??

We're all reasonably intelligent people. Can anyone figure out Apple shipping? I would think they ship by the truck or pallet. But they're making enough iPads right now that you should never need to wait too long for a truck to leave the factory. At that point you should switch from "Prepared for shipment" to "Shipped" as soon as they scan it. And if they're making that many iPads a day, what's stopping them from buying a dedicated plane to ship them (and every other product) to the mainland?

Well the plane from Alaska is about 2 hours away from louisville, no changes on the ups tracking page...... At this point I'll just be happy to see an update to that page, but still holding out hope that our iPads are on that plane, and not still in hong kong!!! I guess well find out in the morning! Hope we all wake up to good news!

I got tired of waiting and just used the findone app to locate one at a local target. Now instead of waiting for the "prepared for shipping" and then tracking its delivery from outer space my iPad is right here in front of me. The model I wanted, too. Every target near me has iPads, and has for a couple of weeks.

Update!

Just got off the phone with UPS. they said the delay was caused by apple shipping out a gazillion packages that caused an airplane weight capacity overload, so my little ipad is waiting for the next plane to America! She said both UPS and apple are aware of the situation and to keep checking my status. Damn apple and their bull***t!

Im praying, praying its on one of those flights to louisville but something is telling me its still in hong kong.

I wish ups operated more than one flight a day from VHHH-PANC

What is everyone gonna use for protecting the iPad? I'm thinking just the iPad and smart cover. No plastics or anything like that. Raw naked.

seems like everyone with their iPads stuck in HK are tired of waiting..
i paid $12 for the expedited shipping and my guaranteed delivery date was monday by noon.

it is now wednesday and my tracking info says it is still sitting in HK. am i wrong to assume it wont be at my door today either? whats going on? some ninjas steal our ipads or something? it would be nice if UPS or apple provided just a little bit of info on the current situation.

WI-FI 3G 32GB BLACK ATT - delivered

Ordered March 29th with original delivery date of April 29th.
Shipped April 22 with revised delivery of April 27th.

Fed-Ex delivered April 26th. They must have anticipated the long weekend hold-up in Hong Kong, perhaps due to the holiday, but once out of Hong Kong they moved quickly.

:apple: A reminder to make sure you have updated iTunes before connecting your new iPad, then update software for iPad. I don't like programs running in the background checking for updates so I usually turn off that option. I'm normally good about checking but had failed to get last iTune update. Hooking up my new iPad eventually caused iTunes to freeze. Was eventually able to shut down iTunes but then entire (Windows 7) system froze. Ctrl+Alt+Del didn't work. I believe with now updated iTunes and iPad software, the problem has been fixed.

This is so true, I haven't had any scans since China on 4/23, UPS had it sched. For delivery yesterday (4/25) and apple had it sched for delivery today (4/26) but nothing. UPS told me that it is all apples fault, that apple put a customs hold on my shipment and that's why it hasn't moved. Apple says that's not true. Then when I emailed and called ups today they told me this morning that it has cleared customs around 9am this morning, but still no scans...and I paid for 2 day shipping!

I really really hate UPS.

Sounds similar to what I am experiencing.

Apple said it cleared customs yesterday late morning (New York time) and I should see it leave Hong Kong in a few hours. yet this morning there is still no updates on UPS tracking site

I too hope you're right. I guess we'll all find out tom. I have a bad feeling that it's sitting in hong kong still.

I was wrong:(

My tracking info updated....my ipad has been stuck in China with UPS for 48 hours (since my original tracking scan). As of this morning, it has been updated to departing Chengdu. There must either be a clog at customs or a backlog of shipments trying to get out of China. Between the white iphones shipping and the Ipad 2 scheduled to be released in other Asian countries this week, I think we all caught a case of really bad luck.

Mine is shipped today via TNT (ordered on 1 Apr). Got tracking number, expected delivery date is 3 May

Just wanted to share my experience really quickly. My iPad (ordered April 4) went PFS last Thursday. Twice UPS said it was leaving Chengdu, yet it never did. It finally got to Hong Kong caught a quick connection in Anchorage, but missed its Monday morning connection in Louisville. Apple and UPS swore that it would be delivered this morning by 10:30. However, when I woke up to check if the truck was "Out for Delivery" I got this message "Adverse Weather May Cause Delays." Two minutes ago, I learn that instead of arriving in Chattanooga my iPad is in Knoxville. ******* UPS.

I hate UPS. I give up checking for it. It'll come when it comes. Or it will never come.

Although in checking for the last time it finally says in transit to Louisville. AGAIN! weird thing is it now has an alternate tracking number that say the package is going to Wisconsin. What the he'll is that???

Again, I HATE UPS!!!

well, at least i can say that my tracking info FINALLY updated....first time since sunday.......

Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong 04/27/2011 7:36 P.M. Departure Scan

Looks like it might actually FINALLY be on its way to the good old U S of A.

HALLELULIAH!

Mine is with yours

I have the same tracking info except i looked today i have a alternate tracking that was delivered to encino ca and my other says departed weird

So my iPad sat in China for 40 hours
It took 36 hours to get from China to Hong Kong
and It sat in Hong Kong for 46 hours

I have a departure scan from HK too, but no alternate tracking number.

Did you have to call UPS for that, or was it emailed to you as a standard notification?
