I don't know what's up with mine. 'In transit' could mean anything at this point. I think mine might be on flight FX94 which just landed.

I'm supposed to receive it on the 17th and that's all I really care about at this point. Hopefully that stays true.

i'm actually really impressed with the speed at which these babies are shipping. especially since it was the free standard shipping, 1 week from order to delivery is not too shabby at all!

that being said, my baby is still showing as in alaska.... any possibility it'll be here before thurs, like the estimated delivery date says? i'm in southern california

i'm also waiting around for a new RAM so that i can upgrade to SL and actually boot up the ipad!

Mine still shows as "Intl Shipment Release" at 3:50PM. It had to have made a flight out at some point today. I had a similar issue with my iPhone 4 delivery. My delivery status said the phone was still in Alaska, yet I was in LA signing for the delivery. FedEx's systems are not as advanced as UPS in the tracking department. I think anyone in SoCal who had their iPad shipped out with the first wave will receive them at some point tomorrow.

Amen! I bought a 64GB Black Wifi, No Engraving at roughly 4:15AM EST and I still haven't a tracking number or any shipping notification. What gives? I ordered in the first hour; and, I am still looking at next week as when I will get it. They at least shipped my iPad Case - except, that it missed its plane and will be later than Thursday. I just checked and it doesn't look like it as of this moment. The flight landed 47 minutes ago apparently.

I'm not sure what city it's headed to now or if it's staying up in Anchorage for the night. No delays or changes in delivery time yet. Guess I'll have to sleep on what little I know.

That's exactly what i think will happen. We'll probably see an arrival scan at LA by 5 or 6AM, then out for delivery

I don't think it's that they "missed the scan", I think it's just their systems are probably a little swamped (as they were with the iPhone 4 launch) and they're just not updating properly. You'll see

I also have a white 64GB wifi that has been stuck in "Prepared to Ship" for 2 days. I ordered at 1:08 PST. My husband's black 32 GB wifi model has shipped and is now in Oregon, enroute to Washington by 3/17, according to FedEx. I am getting fustrated that mine hasn't shipped! I wonder what is up with these 64 GB models?
