It's sad that others on the same shipment are getting theirs and we aren't even deemed acceptable for US consumption yet.
You may still. Mine made it all the way from Alaska to Memphis by 1am est last night, and then made it from Memphis to Atlanta early this morning and is on a delivery truck in Atlanta currently.
So if you're leaves Alaska today you may still have a chance for delivery tomorrow if they fly it from Memphis to your hub. I may have just lucked out on that living in a Major city that has a Fed Ex air hub, other places may get trucked from Memphis and take an extra day. That's what I thought would happen to mind, I was expecting it on Wednesday. Didn't think there was any chance of it coming today.

I spoke with a CSR from Apple a few days ago and asked why I hadn't been charged for my smart cover but I had been charged for my iPad (Black 64GB WiFi + 3G AT&T at 1:04 AM PST). He told me that you are charged for things once they ship. I was charged for the smart cover (red leather) a day later which showed it was in Memphis, not China. This leads me to suspect that while it may not have a tracking number, it probably has shipped.

status changed to "prepared to ship" at roughly 9pm on 3/13
status changed to ship with tracking info at roughly 8:30pm on 3/14
due to arrive this Friday the 18th...talk about ending the week right!!!

O.K. the automated service said it is one the way to the designated station for my zip code .......
The person said (he was nice just not very smart) it was just released from customs and it is on it's way to the US then he said it has to cross the Atlantic ocean (yep) and it will be routed to the closest Fed Ex station to my zip but first it goes to Memphis sorting station
Mine still says its in Alaska, but its been released for shipping. I'm think its going to the FedEx Hub in Newark, NJ as that's where my iPhone 4 was sent from Alaska.

I totally agree with you and am in the same boat on a Black 64GB ATT model. I wish some people would just wait until their shipping window has passed before complaining about it.
Just called fed ex to see why i am stuck in Alaska?
they said they had so many that part of the shipment was not cleared yet even if tracking shows cleared, I should show movement early AM tomorrow.

Ipad Not at Store
Well, I got in line at 8:00 AM for a 9:00 AM opening at the Apple store. They had indicated last night that they should have stock today. There were about 10 of us in line when the manager came out and said that since it was really cold out we could line up inside. She confirmed that they were expecting the shipment, just not sure what time. After about half an hour she came out and said she had bad news--the plane with the Ipads was stuck somewhere so they wouldn't have them after all. I thought I was so close to touching that Ipad. She said to call later today to see if they would be there for tomorrow morning.
It is a little aggravating to know that Apple is shipping the second round to the stores when many us who ordered online as soon as they went on sale still have not received shipping notification.

My iPad is still stuck in AK since yesterday. Some of the other iPads on the same flight must have bullied their way to the front as from what people are saying they made it to Memphis or DWF while mine was left behind. I think I must be getting the runt of the litter...
