A yellow band is better than runny vertical lines or a dimmer/ jaundice-y screen in my opinion.

Gotta pick your screen battles

I been through 6-7 units and I just can't find any unit that doesn't have them anymore. The display units in the store before the 128GB's came had no vertical lines. I also seen earlier SE's that don't have this issue. The latest replacement I received has vertical lines and piece of dust under the screen. Not sure what to do at this point, any suggestions?

Vertical lines drive me nuts. They make the text less crisp too and everything feel... off imo

Sorry to hear!

Yeah, I'd love to get a hold a C39 SE but not sure if worth trying. I'm currently using my iPhone 5 because it's just that annoying. I went through this with my 5S but the replacement didn't have the issue, but with the SE, my luck is worse. It seems the quality decreased after Summer 2016 from what I see.

Wouldn't be surprised. They were pretty bad odds when I was rolling the dice on my gold 64

I'm considering buying a 5S screen for it, but I'll try to get it swapped out because the last one came on 10.2.1, and I would like a jailbreak.

I'd say it's gonna be tough to find a 10.2 device but that would be awesome :)

Edit- impossible. 128 shipped with 10.2.1

My new SE arrived today and it's good - best one I've seen so far. Not perfect- it is a little warm at the top of the screen, but no ugly yellow band. Got it brand new and sealed for $250 on eBay (factory unlocked 16GB version), so no way I am getting rid of this unless something major is wrong, but so far so good. Also, for reference, my SE was manufactured in July 2016. The other ones I bought and returned were the 32GB models made this year, so maybe it is that the newer ones are worse for some reason. Needless to say, I'm happy.

Mine dated January 2017 as mentioned the screen is perfect, I think the screen's are probably made by 2 or 3 different manufactures hence why some look better than others who knows.

Well, I spoke too soon. Encountered a new screen issue with this phone I've never seen before. There are diagonal streaks apparent on darker (especially gray) backgrounds as if the glass below was wiped with some solution (or maybe it's the adhesive). Either way, pretty pissed since I really can't return it at this point since I left positive feedback for the eBay seller. Wouldn't feel right returning it anyway since it was new and sealed. Guess my options are to keep it as is or try to pursue something with Apple.

i would be bothered by that yellowness by itself.... How can this pass apple QC....
The yellowness isn't there in person thankfully. That must be some distortion of the light in the room. I would have said no way to that immediately. I'm just so over trying to find an acceptable screen. You have no idea how many iPhones and iPads I've went through.
I also just want to say that the streaks are definitely under the glass because I removed the screen film that is on in the photos and then reapplied it after checking.

Thank you. And I will. I didn't have a choice with the color though lol. That's all they had for that price - I wanted Space Gray to switch from the white front I've had with my 5S for two years. The gold is very nice on this design though. Not sure what path I'm going to take with this one yet. Might use it a few days and see if it bothers me in regular use before deciding to contact Apple. It has one year of warranty starting today so it's not like I have to be in a hurry as I assume this would be something they could address anytime.

Is it not the screen protector that might be causing the problem.

If not you could always swap over the 5S screen if that perfect.

I already explained that it is not the screen protector. It is under the glass. And no, not switching screens.

Learn to live with it unfortunately
