So, because you have low speeds it's the modem, it's already been proven that the Intel modem comes close to the Qualcomm modem.
Just yesterday I saw a plotted graph on 9to5 (I think), not a lot of difference.
In other words, it's your provider/location.
Except with my 7, same provider same location, it was much much better. Also, 3 failed calls this week(one day).

So, no.

I like the red color but let’s be honest most people put their phone in a case that covers up that finish...so it doesn’t really matter what color the phone is.

If that's the case, there should have been a red iPhone from the beginning. It all starts with understanding the market where you want to sell for.

That's the problem with Apple these days. They don't even know where they have to compete with in certain markets or what the demand for is.

That's probably the reason for the big fail in India too. Selling an old SE while you already can get a full spec phone with big OLED screen for half the price of an SE.

Apple is so out of touch in so many markets

No, it means Apple knows what it’s doing. The red phones will boost sales in the half year before the next iPhone. If they released it alongside every other color, it could there would be no more factors to incentivize holdout customers.

You do realize that the color red in China is a very popular color, right? It symbolizes ‘Good luck and Fortune’, so even if this rumor was true, I think a Product red iPhone would do very well in China regardless of the Chinese New year or not.

Which is why it should have been released during the news years. It would have tied in well the festivities.

Somewhat off-topic, but how much did that association exist prior to the communist revolution? It seems somewhat convenient that it’s also the colour of the conquering communists and of communism itself. I’m sure the Party are only too happy that the people view the colour favourably and in such a light.

I happen to like red also but certainly not because of China. A shame it’s not available more widely.

Edit: Just noticed your username, should I be worried? :D:po_O

I know :) just making light in the whole Intel modem dilemma's as of late.
Although coverage was better with the Qualcomm modems

Well I think that's the point of Intel modem's debacle. They work just as good as Qualcomm ones when you're in the area with strong signal. But Intel modem will drop out more often in another area with poor coverage. I've seen this too many times. I have a 7 Plus with Intel modem inside and my girl has 8 Plus with Qualcomm modem. In a weak area, she keeps 2 - 3 bars while my phone shows a single bar, barely.

That’s really interesting given that they are the most populated country in the world.
Well played Sir.

It's good for resell value. Red iPhone often get better residuals than silver or space grey, it's just like new colours. (iPhone 4S in white, 5S in Gold, 7 in Jetblack, X in Silver, XS in Gold etc).
The funny thing is that the second or third owner will also put them in a case.
I always buy the "new" colour for that reason and I keep my phone in a case but it's a transparent one.

Apple is spinning its rainbow circle. If it knew what it was doing, the Red would've been released on January 01, 2019.

It wouldn't have abandoned the SFF - the Red might cover the color spectrum, but it is the size spectrum that was missing an end.

Yeah that's definitely the problem. Part of the reason I've held off upgrading until they include better intel modems in the Xs models onwards

I wish they had more colors for the XS. It's like okay, I spent more for the fancy model, but I have fewer color options? And yeah, they really need to work on making these things durable enough that you can use it without a case. I'm pretty careful with my devices but I also have little kids and accidents happen.

I missed out on the red 8 plus (b/c I had already purchased the gold one by then), so a red Xs Max would be awesome enough to get me on board. (That and red is my favorite color.)

Another reason (which I think might be the main reason) is that people generally don’t want to buy a product that is somehow associated with a diesease and it’s considered bad luck in China.

Still a third reason would be that in China, charitable giving is less common compared to in the West and in particular the US. For reference, see various articles regarding charitable giving by country (The Economist has some articles about it).
