Not too excited for an iPad Pro update. I wouldn’t have even upgraded from 1st gen to 3rd gen if my screen hadn't been so damaged from drawing so much, and my AC+ wasn’t expired.

1st gen was super responsive, smooth for graphic design and my battery life was still at a 100% when they ran diagnostics before trade in.

However, I have other motivation to get the new M2 iPad Pro: this will probably be the last iPad Pro with a non-OLED display, and I don’t want an OLED display on my iPad.
Same. I'm due for an upgrade from my iPad Pro 10.5" (mentioned above), but the OLEDs give me a headache. miniLED is fine, but I want the newest iPad Pro I can get without an OLED.

What? Wouldn't they, iPad Pro's have been USBC for awhile now. They are advertised as having it for camera and other "pro" accessory connectivity.
The current ipad pro has USB-C already...
This is the echo chamber. Complaints keep getting regurgitated over and over without the due diligence if they’re valid anymore.

11” iPad Pro from an Air 3 would be a great upgrade for me even without mini led. Dynamic island would be a nice surprise if it carried over to these

Actually, the Bluetooth 5.3 standard will open the door to new features in the future, and it is possible that those will be limited to the new devices.

I use Bluetooth A LOT, for AirPods, Airdrop, controllers, and right now Bluetooth isn’t the most seamless experience (especially on my Mac).

My goal is to renew all my devices to those supporting the new Bluetooth 5.3, so that the integration is near perfect for many, many years.
I preordered AirPods Pro 2 so I am looking forward to 5.3's potential of improving the battery life and more robust connectivity. But I remain underwhelmed by Apple not taking the full advantages of 5.1 to 5.3 just yet. Apple will hopefully prove me wrong and offer feature updates in the future.

Hard to imagine how they can improve the look and functionality of the iPad Pro 12.9 hardware wise other than moving the camera to landscape side. It’s an outstanding piece of hardware as it is. Display is amazing, even with limitations of mini LED.

Curious to see whats in store for the iPad Pro. The rumoured updates don't seem terribly exciting, but I'm hoping we're surprised.

And yes, please would love to see a Mac mini with M2 / M2 Pro!

An event for an M2 instead of M1 in iPad Pro? Just update the home page for such spec bumps that have next to no impact on the user experience. An event for this would be an insult or at least embarrassing.

What would not be an insult:
14+ inch
3nm version of M2
Same camera systems as iPhone 14 Pro
landscape cameras for faceID
one USB C on each short side

The price would be scary but the likelihood of this machine is at most inversely proportional to the price.

Thinking of upgrading my mum to one. Her 9.7" Pro is getting a bit long in the tooth.

So many people in here complaining it’s not enough of an upgrade over the M1 model.

Do you ever think, perhaps, that not everyone upgrades annually? That there are people with 2015 and 2017 Pros that might be waiting for a new model? Or, Tim forbid, even an older model like the soon to be obsolete Air 2? Or maybe they just want a new model so the M1 models get marked down?

I recognize that for many the youniverse is really hard to escape. Give it a try.

I don't think i'm going to upgrade until OLED is a thing. Which could be a while. I imagine with the OLED model we'll also get Dynamic Island.

Eh, I think the challenge is uncertainty. I think many people (at least the core users here), want certain features but they are often far off. Apple tends to trickle down features, so depending on where you fall the upgrade could be a gamble.

I have the 2020 12.9 Pro. I love it, but wish it had a better screen. There's also the cost benefit of either going for last years model or this years model.
