I think the new refurb price on the 8GB phone is the bomb! $349.00. I'm very close to just pulling the trigger already...

I'm on right now. I've been waiting for 15 minutes so far. I don't remember ever being on hold with Apple so long. Well, $150 is worth the time, so I'm waiting.
was on hold for 5, 10, 15, 30 min at various times during the day - could not get through...finally after 50min hold at ~600pm pac time i got through...the rep answers the call "iphone price adjustment right?" my response "yup"

When I spoke to someone at the Apple Store she told me that they dont accept refurb returns. It has to be sent back to Apple.com. They wouldn't even issue the credit that i got with the customer service rep.
You know, I actually thought about that too later on. I'm sure she misspoke when she said $150. But I wont know until i see the credit on my card. Im sure they have safeguards that prevent such slip ups though.
I thought it was a slip up too when i got my $150 refund for my 4gb refurb, but if you look at it rationally the 8gb refurb is $150 off the standard price and they are not selling 4gb refurbs yet. So one could suggest that if they sold the 4gb refurb it would be $249.
Call back...they only gave me $100 yesterday too...then I called back today and they increased it to $150.
The guy I spoke with originally said $100. So I said, I thought it was $150. He put me on hold and came back and read from an email and said that I was right, it should be $150.
I just ordered a $349'er and I can't wait. I paid for overnight delivery. why the hell not.

does it have any scratch on it ?? comes in a original box or the brown box like the macs ?I just got my 8gig refurb from apple yesterday and I have been loving it. It came in a sealed package, the only difference being that in came in a white box instead of a black one. It looks brand new, with no scratches on it all. I got the 349er because they lowered the price. I had been waiting for them to do so. Ihooe that answers your question about whether it shows signs of wear I'd anything like that.

just like the poster above me, mine came in a plain brown box with a white box inside and the condition is prestine. There is not a scratch on the phone and I feel great about the purchase. I posting From my iPhone right now.
are they still selling refurbished 4 gigs? If so, it's probably pretty cheap with the price cut.

I too had been waiting for the price drop on the iphone. As soon as I heard word that it had dropped, I was all over that! Especially when they said that they were not doing the 4G any longer and when those were gone they were gone!
I got on the apple online store right away to order and noticed the clearance link and thought I would just take a look@@? For only another $50.00 bucks and I was in the 8G... so I figured why not? I'm not afraid of refurb. It has never hurt me before and you save a whole lot-o-money
Now, I did not know about the box thingy, so you guys just all informed me that mine was NOT brand spanking new.... I will explain.
When mine came "it" was carefully packaged inside the "brown" box... it was in this beautifully "shrink wrapped" and adorable little PERFECT "white" box!
I WAS AMAZED AND THRILLED BEYONE BELIEF!
SURELY THIS WAS A MISTAKE? "SHOULD I CALL APPLE"? "HONEY, LOOK"?
I opened it up and everything was packaged perfectly...
"Honey, they must have over-sold all the refurbs and HAD to send ME a brand NEW one". I thought I was soooo lucky! lololol
Okay, you all can just stop your howling now
Anyway, I LOVE MY NEW $350.00 8G PRISTINE (REFURBED) IPHONE, no matter what and I have been playing with it all day.

yep, it comes in a nice white box. got ours yesterday. but what does it matter anyway unless you are going to be wearing the box around your neck as you are walking down the street or trying to sell it as new to the rest of the world.
