I would guess...yes? I've never been on a date, but I know that it's normal to be nervous about something you are excited for but not entirely confident about.

Life as a loaner just gets more and more win, LUL.

I was going to go to the girl's school prom but at the last second she had to ditch because her brother had to go to the ER with a brain condition. So now we are going to my school's prom.

Why start a new thread, or are you a different kind of nervous now?

Seriously, what's the very worst thing that can happen? Is that thing all that bad? Is it worthwhile being nervous for two whole months over? Probably not.

Um, I'm in no hurry...at all. 21 is a bit past the emotional distress and awkward stages XD

Invaluable? Erm...I'm perplexed, please share something invaluable that's learned from dating. LUL

Go. Have fun. If it is a complete flop you will learn something. You will learn it doesn't matter and life goes on. Dont sweat the small stuff and it's all small stuff.

Mocking? No sir, just doubtful.

The reason I ask is because I have no plans to date...ever, so if you have anything to share...

Um....great! That will come in handy during...work...or something. *Phwew* I'm glad I received that critical tidbit. I can only dream what else I need to learn XD

LUL, I saw that coming.

Just as with the OP, people assume something must be wrong with me. His dad, as he said, expects him to, "get laid," on prom night. My own father thought I was nuts when I wasn't just a horndog all through my teens and practically disowned me when I told him I will never marry.

To answer Tristangage, early in my teens, I decided I would consciously consider every change I made in my life to weigh the benefits and purposes. "Girls" would have been a change in my life, at that time. I considered it, weighed the benefits and purposes, and decided it's not worth the time, effort, money and headache to indulge in an urge I have so easily suppressed. It's just as well, I have no sexual attraction to anyone. Although, in the age of the internetz, I should also add that I have no sexual attraction to anything.

OP, how did you respond to your fathers remarks about having sex after the prom?

Interesting. Whilst it may not be sexual, do you not have any physical attraction to anybody? Of either gender? Is a relationship not an experience you want to have at all during your lifespan, regardless of how you may currently feel?

Nope, not interested. As well, I don't consider eight-years a "phase," if that's what you assume.

And you fell for that excuse?
