Reliable Leaker Suggests AirTags 'Coming Soon' in Two Different Sizes

Ok, so it might save you from thieves successful enough to own Apple products, but stupid enough to not remove the most obvious tracker.

Exactly! I know lots of stupid people that own iPhones.

but think about if you attach one underneath your bike seat. How likely is that they will ride past someone with an iOS device? Pretty likely. Depending on the bag there’s plenty of places you could probably hide one also.

I sure hope they are magnetic so we can slap them on cycles or cars easily. There is no way they are magnetic for attaching them to your phone..

I don’t know if I need these since I already tried it years ago with my Nokia tags and Windows phone and never really got use out of it but I also think this is better due to modern technologies and Apples wide reach of devices that will build out the network.

News at 11. Man dropped AirTag into kids backpack and used it to triangulate the best location to kidnap him. And after that don't forget to love your kids everyday, because you never know when god is going to invite them up to heaven via yours snake.

This also works if you wanted to stalk someone.

Size difference could refear to the tracking range.

Look for some analogy @ Tile models Pro & Mate.

However, it is just my subjective thought.

I hope watch batteries aren’t required - they’re not exactly friendly to the environment or small children.

I think it was mentioned that there will be a wallet or pouch as an accessory which would be handy for attaching to car keys

Really seems to go against Apple's whole privacy focus. Can see tracking being abused. Lawsuits, etc.
Seems possible that attempting to avoid such issues is why they have taken so long to be released?

No, I don't have any wonderful ideas as to what they could do - but someone else might have.

You will be 100% incorrect.
The tech, UWB - U1 chip in the AirTags is ALREADY built into the iPhone 11 onwards.
Why would you need to track a phone when FIND MY is already built into iOS and also has UWB to provide the higher accuracy of tracking?

What you are saying is, I want to put a GPS tracker on my GPS tracker. - No logic in that.

EDIT: Typos, don't use Siri dictation. :)

My thought was just you connect it but attaching it to back of iPhone. That automatically pairs it with your iCloud account. Makes sense to me.

The environment stuff is already taken care of in previous keynote, and the solution is to not include chargers and earpods with all iPhones.
This will be separate announcement, different channel.

whoever needs these probably needs a mental institute more. how can you be so forgetful you need a tracker?
Let's hope that by the time you need one, your loved ones won't think like you just did.

Would make the most sense to charge these on the Apple Watch charger surely? Looks like a very similar size and profile.

or stolen by someone with an iOS device? I guess when they are stealing it, they could check for an airtag?

And that's happened how many times since Tile and similar tracking devices have been around, or even GSM trackers specifically designed to track (your own) kids?

Do people without security or memory issues really need these? Or just want them?

I have the same dilemma though as the only personal use case I can envisage is if the small tag is compact enough to safely attach to my cat's collar. Not so much that I have a window into his COVID-ignorant life of sunbeams and serial killing, or can track his activity plus the exact garden borders of his despotic urban empire, but more practically so I can identify which of my neighbours are outright lying when they categorically deny feeding him.
