Remove avatars next to post titles

Can you guys please remove the avatars next to the post titles in a forum? They take up so much space that they make thread titles look all scrunched up together. Not to mention there's are tons of users who don't even have avatars so all that is displayed is a gray icon. It looks terrible, takes up unnecessary amounts of space and is completely useless. Anyone agree?

Yeah, an option for that (as well as to hide avatars, and perhaps any images, in threads as well) would be nice.

Another XenForo forum I visit doesn't have the avatars, so yes it's technically possible (and yes I agree; it looks better and more streamlined without them).

Do a poll. I believe that a vast majority of forum members would riot if you ever took their avatars away from them. However, I would not oppose an option for individuals to hide all avatars from appearing in posts if they choose that just for themselves.

They are talking about in the thread lists, not on posts within threads.

This is definitely about having the option to hide that while you are viewing the forums, as there is a similar option to hide signatures (which doesn't affect the ability of users to have signatures).

It does take up a lot of space on mobile. I'll play around with it there.

I don't think they need removing but I'm on a 6+ so the screen loss is not an issue. What would be good is a front page post saying avatars are available for all without restriction. It'll help lots!

Absolutely. I haven't seen any myself but we'll certainly moderate them if necessary.

Just thought I would bring this up to see if perhaps any more consideration has been given to brining back (from the previous forum design/software) a preference option to hide avatars, similar to how signatures can be hidden.
