I'm assuming the solution for making the status bar transparent is the same also. I'm trying to do some research but I'm not finding much. In 3.x you had to replace FSO_BG.png in system\library\coreservices\springboard.app\ But I don't have that file on my iPhone 4 so that wont work for iPhone 4. Anyone done this before?

The status bar is now called 'Translucent_Base'. It will go in UIImages folder of your theme.

I'm looking to remove the grey gradient behind the doc screen. I copied the file in the second post to the location given and nothing has changed. I resprung the phone. What am I doing wrong?? I don't use winterboard so rather stay away from that.

Inside the Zip is just the png file, how is Winterboard meant to see it, shouldn't it be in a folder?

When I open the zip file I see the correct folders. If it's not working for you just create the following folders inside the Winterboard themes folder and place the image inside:

/Remove Wallpaper Gradient.theme/Folders/SpringBoardUI.framework/

Silly me, i was opening the zip and inside was just the png.

I then extracted it and now it's in the folder

Thanks mate.

ok so there's nothing to remove the gradient without using SHSH or replacing files? maybe theres something new?

What does this mean? What are you asking?

There are three ways to get rid of the gradient:

1. Replace the file located here:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringBoardUI.framework/WallpaperGradientPortraitFull@2x.png

2. Use WinterBoiard to replace the "WallpaperGradientPortraitFull@2x.png" file.

3. Use WinterBoard to replace the Wallpaper (the gradient is not applied in this case).

I am using method 3.

I would like to do the opposite!

does anybody have the gradient file so i add it to my wallpaper for the lock screen.

My phone isn't jail broken and i'm very happy with it that way, but i use the same wallpaper for my lock screen and home screen and it does bother me a little that the colors don't match.

adding the gradient to a copy of the wallpaper just to use for the lock screen would make them match, and me a very happy bunny!

if someone could please post the gradient ping it would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking online and not been able to find it.

Thanx

ok. 1 and 2 is out for me since i dont have ifile or SHSH now.

for 3, is that on winterboard settings? do i do that by unchecking "userwallpaper" in winterboard?

i was thinking i could just download an add-on to winterboard to do this. my bad if i didnt word it correctly.

For 3, you need to upload a theme with the Wallpaper file you want to use.

If you don't so themes, all you can do is 1.

Why don't you use WinterBoard? It is much better than changing the default files.

i just tried using winterboard now to get rid of dock reflection and dock.

as far as "Replace the file located here:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringBoardUI.framework/WallpaperGradientPortraitFull@2x.png"

i have to do that with a filebrowser like ifile correct?

Not sure if this is what you are trying to accomplish... if you are talking about getting rid of gradient background when setting pictures as your home/lock screen then you will need to SSH into '/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SpringBoardUI.frameworks/' and copy this file into that location. Respring and you are done.

Everyone seems to like using that lengthy path with the confusing .xxxxx in it. I can just see all the questions on .xxxxx Like mine doesn't say .xxxxx what do I do?

Just place your themes in /Library/Themes

I've tried both of these methods and it's not working for me!

It means make a WinterBoard theme. But you don't want to do that for some reason so I guess I don't have tell you, again, how to do that....
