Install Xcode v10 from the App Store onto your Mac.
Fire up the simulator for iPhoneX and have a play with the limited set of Apps it has pre-installed.
I hated it at first but after about 3 weeks of using iPhone X in simulator I've found that I now prefer it to the "old" format iPhones. The home button and screen border now look so dated.
"The notch", is a non issue too. Another thing I hated at first but now I've updated my apps to "embrace it" as apple suggested it looks very good!
Can't wait to get my hands on the real thing.

How to get onto the front page of Macrumors:

1) Download one of Apple's images of the iPhone X.

2) Resize that image in Adobe Photoshop.

3) Call that resized image a "rendering" that "imagines" what an "iPhone X Plus might look like."

:D

They could have at least inscribed "iPhone X Plus on the back panel.

I honestly don't know which one to pick. :/

For only $3500 you can have them both!

I wonder if they'll release the iPhone SE X

With two new features... smooth slick new back, and new ultra powerful vibration chip. Tinder pre-installed on every unit.

Crud, that's THREE new features. Dig up Steve, this is revolutionary!

The last thing the iPhone line needs is more fragmentation ....

Actually, the iPhone line of Offers diversity, and has a price point and iPhone model for almost everyone. I would say having more options is better than having limited options.

So I commend Apple for offering an entry-level iPhone starting with the SE and more of an expensive model with the iPhone X, with in between models for those who don't want the latest specifications.

But on a slightly unrelated note, wouldn’t a lot of people prefer a slightly smaller X option over a larger version? Maybe I’m just speaking for myself here.

Remove the word slightly and the answer is probably yes if it is SE sized. Perhaps called the iPhone X Nano? Or maybe they should use W, X, Y for the sizes? Or maybe something simple and will work long term such as screen size and year: iPhone 5.8 2017 for example.

And the second photo is just two iPhone Xs stacked. Nice “render.” Pssh.

The only thing I imagine of iPhone X is with in-display TouchID. Obviously Apple failed miserably to implement that feature, so they ended up hyping the FaceID. Now the mindset of some people is that it’s the only way now. Not knowing that FaceID is just a secondary feature and in-display is a game changing main feature.

I have to disagree with this. One of the most frustrating parts of touch ID is using it with wet or sweaty hands. It just doesn't work. I run with my phone and will swim with it by the poolside to have my workout with me. I can never open the dang thing. I had a Galaxy S8, and have to admit the iris scanner was really nice to have (the rest of the phone sucked). If FaceID is as good as the hype, I am going to love it! I don't think I'm alone.

I guess I'm a casual Apple guy, but I hadnt even realized the iPhone X was closer in size to the non plus iPhones.

Seriously, is this a joke?

“Render” from article above comparing the iPhone X to an X Plus-

Great vision — difficult to pull off such a render. Take what you got and make it bigger.

I think most iPhone users I know would like an SE sized phone with 5”+ screen. I don’t actually know anyone who uses a +.
