The only thing I imagine of iPhone X is with in-display TouchID. Obviously Apple failed miserably to implement that feature, so they ended up hyping the FaceID. Now the mindset of some people is that it’s the only way now. Not knowing that FaceID is just a secondary feature and in-display is a game changing main feature.

One of the reasons I am excited about the possibility of microLED screens (Apple are known to be working on these, having bought LuxVue) is their low aperture ratio (only 10% of the surface area is the LEDs), so there is room for embedding sensors in the display, so we might have to wait until they arrive.

On a related note, maybe the camera could be embedded in the display so there is no screen/camera offset when using FaceID (plus you could actually look into the eyes of the person you are speaking to on Facetime calls).

But on a slightly unrelated note, wouldn’t a lot of people prefer a slightly smaller X option over a larger version? Maybe I’m just speaking for myself here.
My first though was when I saw the article was "I'm hoping for an iPhone X Minus".

That notch looks like a big cluster of dead pixels. Wouldn't be surprised if customers that haven't been following the news think it's a defect and try to exchange or return it.
They should return it, but not because it’s broken, because it’s working perfectly as designed...

Ha, they didn't even resize the icons so they are the same size on the larger device

"The notch", is a non issue too. Another thing I hated at first but now I've updated my apps to "embrace it" as apple suggested it looks very good!
Can't wait to get my hands on the real thing.

Like as if you had a choice as a developer.

If I subject myself to minor annoyances repeatedly, of course you begin to accept/ignore them. That doesn’t change the fact that the notch takes away from the experience.

I have to disagree with this. One of the most frustrating parts of touch ID is using it with wet or sweaty hands. It just doesn't work. I run with my phone and will swim with it by the poolside to have my workout with me. I can never open the dang thing. I had a Galaxy S8, and have to admit the iris scanner was really nice to have (the rest of the phone sucked). If FaceID is as good as the hype, I am going to love it! I don't think I'm alone.
My point is that in-display as the main feature and FaceID as the secondary. They can work hand in hand, on a day to day use TouchID as the main driver on unlocking your phone. The moment you pull it out of your pocket it’s ready to be used, but when it fails FaceID is there. Don’t tell Apple didn’t thougt about that. Like I said they failed to implement this one and it’s no brainer to hype up whatever you got left.

No. There is no iPhone X Plus.
We’ve seen people blow up the x model to a plus size already yes...
[doublepost=1507159852][/doublepost]Worthless article. I mean really macrumors? Do we need to see a phone blown up on a larger scale. We know what it would look like already

The plus version looks much better then then reg X, will wait for the 11 when the phone and face ID improves and hopefully the notch will be gone

I always felt the 6-8 iPhones should be a little bigger..... but the plus screens are way too big

The X is the perfect size iPhone IMO. Big but not too ridiculous in size

Great vision — difficult to pull off such a render. Take what you got and make it bigger.

But on a slightly unrelated note, wouldn’t a lot of people prefer a slightly smaller X option over a larger version? Maybe I’m just speaking for myself here.

I agree. What is the X should be the X plus, with a smaller version that is the same overall size as the non-plus iPhones.

Honestly, the number one reason why I’m likely not going to buy an X is because, like the plus, it’s a bigger device then I want. I probably need to replace my 6 sometime in the next few months, but it will likely be with an 8. I get that some people want plus size devices, but some of us don’t.

iPhone X Plus should have 4 cameras!! For ultra 4D virtual reality magic view, that's makes its own reality distortion field and for the amazingly affordable price (according to a group of multimillionaires) of 1600$. Basic model. God I'm actually kinda getting sick of greedy Apple these days. Even jokes about it make me sick, because they probably will end up correct. They are just raping their customers lately. I'm kinda losing interest.

I know you are joking but a X Plus will be likely to have more cameras. I think I recall seeing a quad camera module on this very site maybe 4-6 months ago. It's always important to have some external differentiating element to make the "must have the latest & greatest" crowd feel overwhelmingly compelled to "upgrade" and that would be a natural, easy one that could also be spun as yet another reason to raise the price.

If not the X Plus, look for the quad camera module in the 11.

And the Octo camera module in the 12.

It seems inevitable. And profitable. And thus, almost mandatory.

I can understand Apple (aka Jony Ive) wanting to cram a notch into the top of the "small" iPhone X, but there's absolutely zero reason to notch-f#*k a plus sized X phone. If there's a notch on the X plus... That's it. I throw in the towel.
