Cue comments on 'more focus on software, watch is a flop, hate aTV commercials, Tim Cook needs to be ousted, blah blah' in 3...2...1

Are any of those wrong? Or at least have some truth to them? I don't think so, and I am a huge Apple fan. I wouldnt say the watch is a flop, but its still a gimmick. Also, they do need to focus on software more. Windows 10 has way more useful features.

What a lovely new building. A utopian future for all. Even the people are beautiful. Quite an emotional moment there. Apple really are going from strength to stren... oh no. What am I saying? They've completely lost touch with their original customer base. Ended up resizing Jobs' products into watches, styli and steroid chomping I pads instead of inventing stuff people want and smokescreening it all with frippery like this hype. Wait til my missus finds out I fell for it all. She's gonna kill me!
Never did get that "mini tower" you'd been raving on about for decades now, eh boopie?

Well, considering on where it's being opened, that's a pretty realistic rendering. You def won't be seeing any Apple Stores outside of the north side.

I don't see why Apple needs a new store in Chicago. The one on Michigan is in a nice location already. Also, they basically took over an entire train stop with ads on North/Clybourn. Apple should be spending more money on developing products than creating new stores in already established locations.

Outside of the north side? You mean from the North Avenue location onward?

If I was a betting man, my money would be on them renovating the current Michigan store when this is done to expand the theater. I've been to multiple classes now where it's standing room only on the 2nd floor.

Oh, stop the whining, would you? The Apple Watch is certainly no gimmick. Got mine in June, use it every day, and can't imagine my life without it. Focus more on games, you say? Pfft.

And once again, no Downstate love from Apple. Sigh. Anyone know how I would request an Apple store southwest of Interstate-294?

Gotta love these renderings:

Yeah, that upper pic. I don't think I even bothered to look at the building. That is either a deliberate placement to get a favored response by association or a colossal distracting screw up. Either way I like it, ;) but I can see that derailing a design discussion just like a bad slide in the the deck during a presentation.

Looks like someone ironed the Rogers Welsh Assembly :p

That's beautiful, and also looks Frank Lloyd Wright inspired. The interior shots remind me a bit of the Jonhson Wax building.

Chicago is a city in love with architecture and has many interesting buildings designed by great architects. Looks like this will fit right in.
Agreed! That property by the river has been deserted for some time. Great location as a lot of tourists will be around that place and you can see the store from the river cruises.

That is a very close proximity to each other. If you're a fast walker you can walk from Hancock Tower to the Chicago River in 10 minutes....

However, the current Apple store is always packed. Maybe this will help with the overflow and be a smaller 'B sized' store for them.

Living in Northwest Indiana, I'm spoiled with Apple Stores. One downtown Chicago, one in South Bend/Notre Dame, one in Orland Park IL, and one in Lincoln Park. 4 within an hours drive.

Apple is relocating, not adding an additional store to the Mag http://www.chicagobusiness.com/real...moving-chicago-store-south-on-michigan-avenue

Too bad weather in Chicago doesn't give many opportunities for the view from inside the shop to be gorgeous. Can't wait for those rainy, windy days :)
Are you familiar with this area of Michigan Avenue? It's usually swamped with tourists taking pictures and a local TV station used it as the backdrop for their news studio.

There's no reason to think The Michigan Avenue store will remain open once this store is ready. It's not a great location, or a particularly good store.

Each one of those lumps stands for each mountain range in Wales: Preseli, Pembrokeshire (where I grew up): Brecon Beacons and Snowdon:
