Yeah there’s not much difference btw the 1st Gen and the Series 4 I was in Curry’s over the weekend having a play but I couldn’t tell the difference maybe slightly lil quicker and the display abit bigger but I’m pretty pleased with mine the battery has lasted well from 65% battery from this morning just wacked it on charge as soon as got through the doorWould’ve been nice, but this will do me a couple of years before I upgrade.
You get the replacement yet?Be interested to see what they send you![]()
Went to an Apple store yesterday and they ran a diagnostic and my 3yo series 0 battery passed. They quoted $200 for the repair.
At this point I was willing to pay $79 for a new battery.
Chatted with apple support to ask about the $79 battery offer for out of warranty repairs and they referred me to their supervisor without me asking. Received a scheduled phone callan hour later and they offered to send a one time replacement since they replace batteries for the series 0.
We’ll see what I get in the mail a couple weeks from now...
Thanks for leaving us hanging.Whatchu get in the mail?
They said they can do the test remotely. My battery life is much shorter but may pass the test. I’m tempted to set up mail in service but then I may just get my watch back if it passes.

my 1st gen SS model is still slugging along in every day use. no heavy use but it looks nice. well out of the AC+ already.
curious to know what part would qualify on just getting a new one completely?
Has anyone gone through with a battery replacement for an original watch? Apple said mine didn't need replaced when this thread started, it's now lucky to last until evening so pretty sure it wouldn't pass apple's test now. Surely there must be even less 1st generation left for replacements? I replaced mine with a 6 finally but it might be worth going through the battery replacement process even if it is replaced with an original.
I think so, I took it to Apple shop, they ran a test and said battery was still fine so they wouldn't replace battery.
I think Apple support can do test remotely.
It's because they don't actually replace the battery, so they don't want to let people get a cosmetically better watch for just battery upgrade fee if they don't consider battery to be at point of needing replacemwnt
What did you get back? Would be nice to have an update on the same!Just sent my Series 1 SS 42 off for screen pop due to battery swell. Hope I get a series 2 or newer. Just got an email stating replacement is being sent out but not much more detail.
