Agreed. And for those needing/wanting a case, it becomes diffcult to protect the edge of the display. Just dropped my 14Pro the other and day and the metal edge still got dinged in spite of the case. That wouldn't have happened with a bit more case material over the bezel.
True, however with the very thin area for the case to wrap over without obscuring the display, it's almost to the point where the case cannot prevent the phone from popping out. In my scenario, the Apple leather case on my 14pro got pushed away from the metal edge upon impact (flipped out my hand while getting out of the car and hit the sidewalk) such that both the case and the metal phone edge got dinged.
I’ve finally learned after years and similar experiences with Apple’s own Silicone Cases failing to properly protect devices’ corners (as well as retain their own structural integrity) upon drops and impacts that the more economical Apple Clear Case with MagSafe stands up to abuse and general wear far better. Who knew one could be happier with a less “luxurious” option?

I like the idea of slimmer bezels if this improvement:

- allows the screen to be marginally bigger (1 or 2 decimals)
- doesn’t bring back another “bend gate”

If it’s just an aesthetic change and since I will always use a cover, that will be quite irrelevant to me.

I’ll never understand people who say they need bezels to hold a phone. Just how exactly are you holding it? My fingers never need to rest on bezels, it’s not an iPad.

A new article and video have been posted by AppleInsider regarding the iPhone Line up. Worth checking out. 👇

I agree with everything, except your last sentence 🤣
Ha, hopefully Apple takes another stab at a small phone but they seem more concerned with introducing colours on large phones then doing that. ;)

Nothing about this makes me excited and that Mute Button #rolleyes
Yea and that “ dynamic eyesore “ I mean island. I bought a high end android phone to start learning and transition. It cost $835 and doesn’t have any divulging gimmick. Has 12gb of ram and an 8 core cpu. A OLED display and runs flawlessly.
The dynamic island and the weight of my 14PM are forcing me to switch.
Nothing says “ *^%^* you “ like trying to watch a video or play a game and this big black gaping hole staring back it you. The most advanced personal technology company on the planet and they sell is an eye sore as a “ feature “
How the mighty have fallen.

Is this really going to make any difference at all if your phone is in a case?
A near zero bezel makes cases just about fall right off. The the tiny lip on my 14pro Apple leather case barely holds the case in place, and doesn't protect the metal edge very well. If I didn't have such dry hands, making the phone very slippery, I'd nix the case and let Apple Care pro coverage take it from there. But I hate stuff getting damaged and the inconvenience of repairs.

I'd guess pretty much every person on the subway, walking in the middle of the sidewalk, and stopping in the middle of the crosswalks here in NYC would say yes. Seems the only thing they look at.

Out of gas, out of road, out of car I don’t know how I’m gonna go and…

Thinner bezels, that will most likely go completely unnoticed when you start actually using the phone.
I want to upgrade my 13 Pro Max, but I still find no compelling reason to! Guess USB-C would be nice so I can use my external SSD between my iPad and phone easier, but even then, it's not enough to tempt me....yet......

Do people really care about thin bezels? I'm cool with large bezels. I'd much rather have an easy-on-the-eyes display technology (i.e. filter blue light, no PWM, etc.), stable software, and physical buttons that I can access without having to look at the device, e.g. I prefer that Siri is activated only when I press the home button, I like that I can adjust the volume of a video I'm "listening" to without looking at the phone (no taptic), etc.
I do, though mostly indirectly. I have an iPhone 13 Pro after my mini broke, and it is a bit too big to be comfortable. It sounds like the 15 pro will be SLIGHTLY smaller with the same screen size because of the bezel reduction. It won’t be a big difference, but I’ll take any size reduction at this point.
