Frankly, I now miss bezels, especially on my prior iPhone 7. Nowadays, I accidentally have random screen taps on my iPhone 13, since there is really no space to put my fingers on the front of the screen.
Agreed. And for those needing/wanting a case, it becomes diffcult to protect the edge of the display. Just dropped my 14Pro the other and day and the metal edge still got dinged in spite of the case. That wouldn't have happened with a bit more case material over the bezel.

Since the bezel is already glass and part of the display it won’t get anymore fragile. It’s just that more of that black area around the screen will now be pixels. It’ll still have the metal frame on the sides to protect it, hopefully made out of titanium.

I don't understand the bezel obsession. You want a little meat around the edges so your fingers dont accidentally press something.

Anyway as long as the 15 pro has USB-C i will be upgrading from 13 pro.

I also miss the white bezels. Nowadays all iPhones just have a completely black front.
Agreed! How iconic the white iPhones was. Also, the drama/controversery behind it. I wish Apple would bring back the White bezels.

They might even make the dynamic island 15% smaller, that plus the thinner bezels is an insta upgrade! Just take my money, Apple!

It's always been about the bezel. From iPads, iPhones, MacBooks and even Studio Displays.

I suspect Apple has been able to reduce the size of bezels at any time in the past, but chooses only to do so a few millimetres each year as a feature to upsell a product.

ive been asking for the iphone to get smaller, not bigger ._.
why can't we just go back to four inch iphone se's?
I think the biggest reason is battery life. They can only fit so much battery in devices that size.

Not sure we need to go all the way that small but it sure made one handed use a breeze and I miss that. I think iphone mini might have been the goldilocks size for a smartphone but a higher percentage of consumers seem more drawn to larger devices and the mini not having a pro version I'm sure also turned people off from buying.

Give me a mini with pro iphone features and all day battery life and I'm choosing that.

Unfortunately for anything like that might require switching to Android. Funny how that's changed.

Damn those are thin! Really looking forward to the 15 Pro Max. Bring on the periscope lens, titanium frame, usb-c, action button, and 8 gb of ram!

And don't forget 3nm a17. It's pretty crazy that we are going to get all this in just a 1 year cycle. I would have thought that apple would be reserving about half of these for the 16 or beyond.

This is going to be a really solid upgrade from any iPhone, really.

I have the 14 plus and the bezels are already too small. I'm constantly activating things I don't want to.
I don't understand this fetish about bezels.

Yawn. I thought the back edges was supposed to be curved? This is not a curve it’s a sanding of the corner. between that, mm trimmed off the bezel and messing with buttons for no reason, they really have run out of ideas!

That is still my favorite looking phone of all time. I still have my white 4S.

I just wanted one with a big 16x9 -ish screen. I cannot stand small-screen phones (to each their own tho).

So, to the Samsung Galaxy Note series I went, until the iPhone 12 (well, Apple's ecosystem, really) brought me back.

That becomes a non issue with a case, generally.

That said, I am simply NOT comfortable using that super expensive, fragile soap bar that is the iPhone without one.

So for those that like rocking it buck-naked, I can see how this could be an issue.

If thin bezel means narrower phone, that's a welcome change. 6.1" iPhones are already too wide for reachability.

Oh yeah I completely forgot about that! It's going to be a really solid phone and definitely one that you can keep for years to come

I think just like the Apple Watch had the same SoC year after year, its the same for the iPhone. Of course, its the services that they are building on top and required by each rev thats now becoming the driver of upgrades.

Up to now, Apple has never forced me to buy a new iPhone, and yet I still do from time to time. If you don't like the thinner bezels or think they're a joke, cool. Don't buy one. Save your cash or make a donation to a good charity. If you like thinner bezels and think they, along with any other changes and improvements made to the iPhone 14, are worth buying a new iPhone and you've got the bucks, feel free. In America 2023, I'm often reminded of the line in Joe Walsh's song, Life's Been Good: "I can't complain, but sometimes I still do."
