Replica Taktik cases on ebay?

Recently over at the Lunatik fb page, there's at least a couple of guys jumping in on the crackdown of the fake ebay sold aluminum taktik cases. Since getting one myself after purchasing one of the authentic ones...I'd have to say that the aluminum copies blow away the genuine (plastic) ones. I've had zero problems with the copies regarding signal loss, silent switch operation and most significant (compared to the authentic) is the non-issue with rainbow/oil slick effects on the glass. It's an absolutely solid, functional case. I've tucked away my genuine Lunatik TakTik Extreme (I think maybe for good). I think some people were having issues with the silent switch on these because they weren't lining up the switch on the phone & case properly(i.e. in the down position). Also, the glass I do believe to be genuine Gorilla Glass, they're identical on both versions, except, it works flawlessly on the copies. And my wifi signal works fine(it toggles between 3G & wifi). I've purchase a total of four of these copies. One of each: black, silver, yellow(because it fits the Boston Bruins color scheme), and last, but not least...a red one. I've tried each one on my phone and have had consistently great results. So, anyway, I think anyone wanting to get one of these had better act soon, before it becomes impossible. Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up.

I've contacted iphonecase2011 and he said he has the aluminum cases for the price of $50 plus free shipping...the problem is that he can't make the transaction on eBay since they've asked him to take his listings down...what do you guys think? Is he that trustworthy? Did anyone have any experience with this seller outside of eBay?

im just north of Toronto and it has consistently taken around 6-7 days (weekends included) both times so if it follows the same pattern as for me you should expect to get it sometime around the 27th I would assume. Of course there may be other factors that change that but lets just say it gets shipped out pretty fast from the hong kong side its canada if any slow down. But keep tracking it to make sure. I use http://www.packagetrackr.com until i see it in transit then i start checking canada post to see when it comes up on that.

I know $70 seems like a lot but like i was saying to my buddy you can spend $60 plus tax on an otterbox easy at best buy and the otterbox is kind of crappy by comparison.

I spoke to iphonecase2011 and he said he is selling his cases for $50 now...what do you think is going on? y is it cheaper now?

Jin90hong, Regarding iphonecase2011...I'd say he's honest and provides excellent customer service. I've purchased two from him some time ago and was not disappointed. Then, as you said...ebay made him pull his inventory of these cases down. And this is happening to all the other sellers in China & Hong Kong. But, definitely if you have other means to buy from him, I'd say it is safe. His communication is very good. As I've stated previously, I've bought two from him...and when they pulled down his postings...I purchased two more from two different sellers because they had pull their postings down just after I made each purchase. Lunatik is really cracking down on these ebay sellers with the help/tip-offs from a few of their customers. So, I'd make the move soon before these things are totally off the market.

In response to Jin90hong, I absolutely recommend dealing with iphonecase2011 outside of ebay, he has proven himself to be a trusted seller. Im sure you have read the great amount of info provided first by itzAstonish and later by me in review of the knockoff taktik 5 case and the outstanding service from iphonecase2011 thus far. I have no doubt it will be a good experience.

Also to anyone getting the different color cases, post up pics anxious to see some of em.


One last thing, and chime in to correct or corroborate, but Im thinking the silent switch works fine on the metal knockoff case its just the plastic knockoff case that has the issue. Im arriving at this conclusion from hearing so many people with the metal case saying it works fine, yet for me it didnt work, but im thinking that is because I still have the rubber impact bezel from the plastic knockoff case . Just something random that occurred to me the other day.

and ya its sad lunatik has all these uppity fanboys causing problems. tbh a lot of people who bought the original also own a knockoff its just a few trouble makers with nothing better to do. I dont even bother to go on their fb page anymore, just the same issues going on being discussed to death. Makes me shake my head that some non funded people out of nowhere in a third world country can get a simple case out to market that is awesome and backed by great service and a company that gets a ton of money before theyve even done anything cant even get their act together. I remember when people had to come up with their own capital to invest in a project, nowadays seems everyone wants to invest everyone else's money. bottom line is if a company wants the corner on a market they have to earn it, or we've just lost the essence of free enterprise capitalism. I still buy an iphone not because its the best phone out there, but because when my cell phone stops working I can get a new one at a garunteed replacement price at any apple store anywhere, and thats worth a lot to me. When I have an issue I want a response within 24 hours. iphonecase2011 always gave me that and where the customer is always right is where I like to spend my money.

My understanding is obviously he is paying a lot less than hes selling it for, so he has some leeway on the price. This is probably what he feels the market will bear at this point and also if hes selling outside of ebay hes saving the transaction cost etc. You have to realize that all this stuff being mass produced probably doesnt cost much at all per unit to make, so theres probably a lot of room for it to come down, but it boils down to how fast theyre moving versus what the seller wants to make off it for his effort. Other sellers may have dropped their price forcing him to stay competitive or else its better to drop the price and move more units now that lunatik is causing difficulty in advertising his products. Sounds like Stratblues23 is the most recent guy on here whos bought one seeing as though he has a few of them, so if he says theyre all good then quality should have remained high if thats what your wondering. Again, dealing with iphonecase2011 everytime i had an issue he replaced it no questions asked so for me I feel safe knowing he will work to give me customer satisfaction on my purchase

hey bro things are good. Ya so far so good the aluminum one is still going strong. paint wears off a bit on some of the edges but thats to be expected cleaning it everyday/ in and out of pocket etc. I dont mind it though cuz the aluminum shows through and I can see that its metal which I like. All in all though for strength cant beat it its taken several drops. nothing cataclysmic but usual 3 or four foot drops onto driveway, truck floor stuff like that ad no signs of weakening or distress at all. So still very happy with the metal version.
How about you, how are things case-wise on your end?

And word that's good to hear. I'm just checking in, I'm actually on the htc one nowt. Amazing phone, in nerdy tech love. But the iPhone 5 was a great device as well, so I don't want a mod to yell haha I'm very unbiased, I'm a fan of all tech.

As for people wondering about doing business with iPhone case outside of eBay, I'd honestly say go for it with no worries at all. He is very kind and professional and a few members on here have done business with him outside of eBay and I'd imagine many more have as well, especially those in his country.

This case is absolutely awesome! Its amazing what a good job was done on a replica. I must say be careful about getting over zealous and tightening the screws. I overtightened the headphone plug screw and when I went to open the plug it scraped the red paint. All in all it is a awesome phone case no rainbow effect , I even left my full body zagg on it and the phone screen is very responsive. I will take more pictures once my wife gets home (since my phone is in the case

Hey terry8000, this is Arthur from the Lunatik fb page. You turned me on to these aluminum cases a while back and yeah these do blow away the authentic(plastic) ones. Like you said they are beating the same old crap to death on their fb page. Same complaints, same issues. But, now they're making it a little harder to get a replacement part(s). I'll post some pics of the different colors soon. The yellow one I got because of the Boston Bruins color scheme(it also reminds me of the old Tonka Truck toys when I was a kid). The red one looks really nice, the color is the same as you would find on an aluminum flashlight. Anyway, I contacted iphonecase2011 by gmail. I wanted to check out one of the newer updated versions. Question: where is the account ID located on the Pay Pal account page? I've scanned up & down the entire page, looked in every possible tab, but just can't find it. I also have a Bill Me Later account that's part of Pay Pal and asked him if that account number was acceptable, but I don't think he understood what I was conveying to him. He says he needs me to send him my Pay Pal account ID so he can send me an invoice, but I haven't been able to get this info. I even tried emailing Pay Pal, but they didn't help at all. Any suggestions you have would be appreciated. In case you might be wondering...why so many cases? I switch out the different colors for little change. And I have a couple of nieces and a nephew with iphone 5s that I'll be giving cases to(if they want one).

As far as paypal goes, Im not really an expert on it I usually call paypal top ask them how to do even the simple transactions. Check out this video tho it might help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKa1dpoAnQE Sounds like you just pay the money (from my understanding paypal is paid using email addresses as id's) and then after the payment is sent Im sure it would give you a transaction number which is probably what iphonecase2011 was asking for so he could see that a payment has been recieved from you.

Basically the account id should be your email address associated with the paypal account.
