That really sucks. Glad I purchased the real deal even thought I have no idea when in the world I will ever receive it.
Mine is OK so far after two removals My suggestions:
1. Squeeze case together when tightening screws so as to take pressure off
the screw seats.
2. DO NOT over-tighten the screws. I suspect that this is the problem with
the female end being torn loose.
3. I removed the tape from both sides of the top speaker area. I used a
label remover (Label Off) to remove the tape residue. Make sure that it will not affect the case material.
The fit is perfect and there is no rainbow effect. I have the white unit.

On the rainbow:
My guess is that the "Taktik" glass is not lying perfectly flat on the screen glass. I would remove the cover and check to see if there might be a small area of plastic around the glass that is slightly elevated and thus, preventing total contact. It would not take much to do so and might require a magnifying loop to visualize.
I have no way to check (mine is gone) but I am wondering if the tape at the top speaker on the backside of the glass could prevent total contact. It would not take much.

Okay sounds good. Post up when you have the case and tell us what you think. Also in regards to the rainbow effect I have zero issues with it and have a normal, non anti glare screen protector on. Just bringing that up cause I saw that speculation floating around.

i was heart broken when lunatik e mailed me saying the aluminum case was a no go for the 5. long story short i purchased the replica taktik 5 silver aluminum. no service drop, no wifi drop! the case is solid, the glass is deff not gorilla, but resolution is bright doesent feel cheap at all everything lines up, the original one has gorilla glass protecting the rear cam, on the replica nothings there same cut out from the previous gen taxtik, idk bout the plastic case but the aluminum one with the i phone 5 inside its def heavy. heavy is good for me i hate light plasticy phones (reason) i sold my gallaxy 3.the only complaint i have on the replica taktik case is the front face cam the opening piece has a piece of black plastic that look almost house made. 70bucks with shipping for the aluminum one, 50bucks with shipping for the plastic one. im happy with it the case feels good. anybody ever purchased a fake otterbox defender the **** feels cheap the rubber streches in 3days this is nothing like that its worth the 50,70 bucks.

thanks for the update on the aluminum. Def post pics! Happy to hear about the reception being good. did you check the signal strength using 'field test mode' to make sure? it gives you a decibel readout when dialing *3001#12345#* gives the exact strength as opposed to the bar meter simply rounding up.
If its all good I might go for the aluminum one later on I certainly like the idea of a more solid weightier case for sure. The silver looks pretty cool too.

I bought the case from iphonecases2011. He has been very professional apologized and sent me a new case that I hope to receive this week. I hope this one last longer than the first. He did say that he was going to speak to his supplier about the issue in hopes that it can be corrected and that the quality is that which we all hope to expect.
Finally got out today after much snow blowing. I got the case and for the most part it looks like good value for $50. However the two bottom screw holes were broken off right out of the box just like on Philly2's case. So I sent an email and pictures to iphonecase2011 to see what he can do to remedy the situation.
Screen works great though right away and the case fits right and secure. Will add more pics shortly.

So from what I am reading it sounds like it might be worth the extra money to go ahead and spend the extra cash on the lunatik case rather the knock off. Unless, these are the same product you will be receiving from lunatik. Hope not.
Sounds like a quality control issue, which is what I was worried about prior to ordering from china. I've screwed and unscrewed mine only three times, but haven't had any issues with any of the screws this far.
