How much does two batteries cost and a tiny case. These are the same spec/quality Headphones shipped with iPhone free for years

Yes, because R&D evidently costs nothing, plus these things are definitely more expensive to assemble compared to ordinary earbuds.

Jesus Apple, I'm not paying an extra $100 just for the ones that will actually stay in my ears.
that’s alright. you’re the 2% and apple will still make millions. try pixel buds and leave our ecosystem. thanks.

They need a battery that lasts longer than 30 min after 2 years of use.
and you need more realistic expectations of how long a lithium ion battery the size of a tic-tac should last after 1000 charge cycles.

I would describe myself as a fairly light user of my first gen AirPods, and they still last 3+ hours on a charge (not to mention how fast they recharge in the case).

But if you find AirPods so useful that you're a heavy user, would you prefer it if Apple changes the laws of physics or triples the size of the AirPods?

In ok with alternatives, as long as they keep current model available. There’s no way I could buy an in-ear model. I just hate it.
Other than that, I think noise cancelling is ok for home listening or plane traveling, but absolutely wrong for the usage I’m doing with AirPods, when I do need to ear background noise.

Apple used Pro in the name, it must be amazing!! I’m looking for a Pro toilet, cuz after 49 years... I’m a master.. Apple marketing, not so much

Looks to me like when the batteries go, you can cut off the dongles, and solder your own new batteries in place. Maybe paint unicorns or mushrooms on em; plus a little Gorilla tape to hold in place. Would be nice if the "Pros" at least came with replaceable batteries.

So side anecdote here:

I don’t care for that whole ‘in ear’ design, what I really like about the AirPods, is when I take them in and out of my ear, it’s so easy to grab them by the stick/boom versus having to fidget with the in-ear design. I suspect Apple will keep the same design similar to how the AirPods have been, but obviously add more technical features as the article indicates with noise canceling, maybe more bass /trouble output, etc.

I'm not expecting them to so radically change their design either. I never feel like I have to fidget with the full in-ear design, but I can see why some wouldn't like that form factor. I think you're right.. a similar design with more technical features.

Sweet i have been holding off purchasing wireless headphones hoping that Apple would come out with these with noise reduction.

Cue the parade of obligatory elitist headphone owner’s, “No thanks, I’ll stick to my *insert brand name* headphones instead”

Funny thing is ... most of us are actually right. AirPods where not good enough ... to make such a typical MacRumors forum poke shows the shallowness that not everyone's needs should be the same. They're not.

I'd like the AirPods 3 to be as GREAT or BETTER than the Sony's I own in a more discreet yet fully in my ear enclosure. Time will tell after the reveal just how good these AirPod 3's are.

What will it take to make the haters realise this and think twice before opening their mouths to criticise an apple product (much less one which hasn't even been announced, much less released yet)?

If the new Airpods don’t have active noise canx, I’m not interested. My Sony WF-1000MX3’s are pretty damn awesome for music and watching video. They suck at voice calls which I assume the AirPods will be great at.
What most are missing is the AppleID connected devices that AirPods give. Sony's don't have that

Super excited to see if these will feel as “invisible” in your ear as the current ones, or if the silicone will cause ear fatigue after a while. AirPods are without a doubt the most comfortable of any earphones/headphones I have ever used

Pro noise cancelling costs a lot of processing and thus battery.

Decent noise isolation (passive noise cancelling) should remove the need for active noise cancelling and thus free up battery.

I have a set of amazing Sony headphones that are 28 years old.

Apple and their planned obsolescence behavior is borderline criminal activity.

Not sure if you're being serious. Time moves on and so does technology.
