If Apple's history is anything to base off. The next iPhone should see a redesign to some degree.

Full aluminium body (to me) sounds likely. Curved edges? Maybe, but not too the degree shown in the pictures. Larger screen? Probably.

I hope the next iPhone isn't like the HTC and is has a TV remote look to it. If anything, I'd like to see dimensions similar to the Nexus 5 or LG G2.

Why the hell would I want a curved screen? If I'm using, say, Beatmaker 2, why do I want the virtual drum pads to exist on an uneven level?

I hope they don't charge an extra $100. It would be an automatic no from me if they did.

Beveled/curved edges to meet edge exactly, not a curved display.

Spell it now...
aluminium

This. It seems to me most people dont even bother to read the article just the headline and go straight into posting/rant mode.

Curved glass?

Please No!

http://m.uk.ign.com/articles/2013/10/09/samsung-galaxy-round-the-worlds-first-curved-oled-phone

This samsung with curved glass looks awful. Not sure why anybody can see the benefit in such an awful screen.

so the next iphone will have sapphire and stainless steel instead of aluminium, this will be a jeweller

The first iPhone had a plastic cutout... and the iPhone 3G and 3GS had a plastic back to allow the antennas to work.

The iPhone 4 and 4S had a glass back... and the iPhone 5 and 5S had a glass window for the antennas.

But since all iPhones have a glass front... what would prevent Apple from putting antennas beneath the glass on either side of the earpiece and home button?

Personally I prefer my brain the way it is!! Not cooked to a cancer like blob.

A curved display would be nice, but I can't see it offering any real benefit other than aesthetics. If anything it may make it harder to use the device, and that is something Apple aren't likely to do.

I'm pretty sure Apple puts aesthetics before usability, thus their decision to get rid of matte displays on their MacBook Pros (they did, didn't they? I remember it being rumored years ago, but I've never bought an MBP before).

I feel like this rumor is nonsense - It's something somebody said who said they have "credible sources".

So basically it will take design cues from the iPad then. No surprise.

Any news about the iPhone 6 includes that "plus $100" rumor. Maybe it's Apple's way to slowly prepare customers for an increase in price.

The ideas fine, but that home button is and always will be the weakest point in the design...if they put the aerials there I think the fail rate would be even greater than it is now.

I guess its OK for apply to copy android phones?

Looks like everything is okey when Apple does it!

Steve would never have allowed this!

Read my previous post...

The HTC One X had a 1280x720 4.7" curved display ... It's not something new in the market. The curve (if true) will be very slight and nothing like the LG Flex or Samsung Round...

An all aluminium rear back would rule out wireless charging though..

Heck even the Lumia 800 and Nokia N9 had curved displays .... They are not new.

Aluminium

I'm no expert - Can Aluminium be used as an antenna?

If so they could attach the radio to the back and use the whole thing. Then the WiFi antenna could go through the glass on the front, as in most cases (if not all) when you are using WiFi you don't have the phone up at your ear.

Perhaps another way, would be to put very small holes (think iMac microphone) into the Aluminium to allow the radio waves to pass through.

Personally I prefer my brain the way it is!! Not cooked to a cancer like blob.

The iPhone 5S is 7.6mm thick... and contains a radio and antenna strong enough to transmit several miles.

You don't think you're getting radiated already?

I'm having a hard time seeing how antennas on the front or back of the phone would make that much difference.

Sure... maybe the antennas are directional enough to beam signals away from your head. Then again... they also have to reach a tower 360° from miles away. Something doesn't add up.

Look... I'm not an antenna expert... I was just thinking about all the glass on the front of the phone.

There are probably a million reasons why it wouldn't work... I was just curious. :D

Or, you know, the iPad already on the market?

Or the MacBooks?

Nah, Apple's definitely had no interest in metal up until now.

I never got why the antenna reception couldn't go through the front glass bezel, either above or below the screen.

The fact it would only give you reception in 1 direction is why. Remember, just because microwaves pass through many objects, it still behaves like light.

im not seeing harder to use, im seeing easier to break :(

The rounded back reminds me of my iPhone 3G. I like it, it fits in my back pocket better and makes the phone look slimmer visually. But please  -- LONGER battery life --

Interestingly enough, even Apple states in its iPhone manual that one should not put the iPhone directly to the ear (but that is what most people do) due to radiation.

"For optimal mobile device performance and to be sure that human
exposure to RF energy does not exceed the FCC, IC, and European Union
guidelines, always follow these instructions and precautions: When on a
call using the built-in audio receiver in iPhone, hold iPhone with the dock
connector pointed down toward your shoulder to increase separation
from the antenna. When using iPhone near your body for voice calls
or for wireless data transmission over a cellular network, keep iPhone
at least 15 mm (5/8 inch) away from the body, and only use carrying cases,
belt clips, or holders that do not have metal parts and that maintain at
least 15 mm (5/8 inch) separation between iPhone and the body."

Does anybody actually do it? :) I don't think so.
