You don't think it's odd that switching to WEP or swapping out hardware can fix it?

If it's an inconsistent bug in software, no I don't.

Edit: Saw your edit, I think it's software related, and it's affecting multiple iOS 6 devices.

I've fixed my issues by manually entering the SSID and password. IF you scan it automatically and choose the network from a list, it has issues. Entering it manually and selecting WPA2, it will work.

This does seem to help! Thanks! Gives me hope that it is a software issue.

Oh ok, sure, that's possible. It may be an iOS 6 bug... But I don't think it's a measuring (speedtest) error.

I have 2 white 5s both with speedtest download 0.3 Mbps up 0.9. My 4S is 10.97 Mbps down and 0.93 up. Huge difference and both on iOS 6.

Mine is fast. I think these reports are fake.

Yeah, I have nothing better to do than drive an hour to an apple store to exchange a perfect phone. I wish it were fake, much less of a hassle for me.

But I have to admire your logic. Yours is fast so we're all lying.

My iCloud backup ran for nearly 10 hours to restore settings and download all photos and apps. I don't know if this was the cause? I'll run a speedtest tonight.

My iPhone 3GS has dreadful wifi speed. It wasn't like this prior to the update. This has to be an iOS6 bug that needs a fix.

really starting to shake my head at apple. every phone release new issue.

home wifi should be 10mbit/3mbit getting 1mbit/2mbit.. wtf!

That's too bad. Thankfully, mine has been good. I did have a weird hour or two early on where it didn't seem to be recognizing the cell network, but that cleared itself up.

Was that the XKR with the horrid rear impact guards for US models?

I don't know about that, but everything on that thing kept breaking. The automatic convertible thing kept getting messed up, the oil from the latch for the soft top leaked into the car, the brakes kept dying, and there were a lot of other small things. The gas, brakes, and steering simultaneously failed once.

At least the navigator kicks butt. It's the best navigation system I've ever seen, and it never gets confused about your location. The navigator has not been updated ever (still on 2000 programming), and it's always reliable. Ironically, a late 2012 iPhone will get you lost all the time if you live in certain areas.

If there wasn't something wrong with speedtest before, I think there is now... because my computer is now testing 2Mb/s on Speedtest but I just tested it with the Verizon FIOS speed test on a server significantly farther away from me because I live in Canada and got 8Mb/s...

kudos to MR and arn ...

other sites (like AI) will never report these kinda of issues

if a issue affects 1% of users/iPhone 5 it is still a issue. hats off to MR

iPad 1 blowing my 5 away

My iPad 1 OG on ver 5.1.1 is currently get 3x the download speed as my iPhone 5. I sure hope this can be fixed. Going to open a ticket tomorrow, unfortunately.

Is there a correlation between having the WiFi issue and restoring from an iCloud back-up? I can't tell if this is a trend.

It's a plot!

Wi-fi has been slow for me too. I suspect it's a plot between Apple and AT&T to get me to use more LTE bandwidth (which is, admittedly, blazing fast).

My iphone 5 reads below 1 mbps both download and upload using the speedtest app with our 15/5mbps fios, but once i do a restart test it reads the normal speed. Try to restart the test and see what happens..

If it were isolated to only the iPhone 5 it would have legs. As it has affected all devises one way or another, the common denominator is the iOS. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck is it a droid? No it is a duck! To blame the 5 and not the iOS is wrong.
