So I'm in line at the rocking ham park mall in salem nh and there's a guy carrying around $80k in $100 bills and $8000 in apple giftcards asking people to buy him iPads and he'll pay them $50. I told him no way. It looks like he has like 10 people ahead of me doing it and he's on the phone calling more people to come.

All I can think of was the weeks I was hunting for the first iPad. So ya $50 is cool but it's not worth it for the people that actually want one and can't get one cause of him.

He's from lebanon(sp?) he says he wants to buy 1000 iPads. Funny thing is he's joking all the apple staff well doing it they just laugh at him. Now I know why apple banned cash sales for awhile.

Ya he's asking people buying 1 to buy him 1 for $50 and having friends come down to buy them for him he's not paying his friends from what I've overheard.

He's giving people money plus $50 like I said in the first post he pulled out a giant stack of $100 bills and said he had $80k in cash.

a. Why not say ya, and just walk away when he's not looking.

b. if that's too immoral, why not do it if there's a 2 limit and you're only getting one? it's a free $50. get a dock or smart cover or something.

I'm not a moral crusader at all. Those people actually annoy the crap out of me. I just know how frustrating it is to not be able to get one when you want one so I'm not going to help him.

He's a scumbag because helping deplete stock then he'll sell them for more then retail and people won't have a choice if they want one right away.

He's giving people the money and $50 to buy him an iPad so he can take it oversea to sell it. More than likely that's what he's doing.

How is he scumbag? Theres no rule saying he can't do that and if I was you I would take him up on his offer and buy him an iPad with his money to make that extra $50. I mean we are in a recession and you are just standing there.

man, looking at ebay, people are paying several hundred OVER the retail price for these things. You could totally pick up a couple, sell them off and end up with a free ipad from it all.I won't cause i'm too lazy to put that much time/effort in, but it doesn't seem difficult to do given the international launch is still a few weeks away.

Apple is one of the only electronic companies that release stuff in the us first. I know I don't speak for everyone but I don't buy stuff released in japan first before the us launch.

Probably like 50-60 right now. I heard one of the resellers say he bought a new car with the money he made on the iPhone 4 launch
