I don't think they've said how much storage is in the Apple TV. Same type of situation as the watch.

Except that you can store music on the Apple Watch, but you don't store content on the Apple TV.

Different use cases, different situation.

I thought someone on here said (they could be wrong) that the Apple watch accessed music on your phone but did not have the music on it.

The image directly from Apple's website has been posted here a gazillion times. You can listen to the music that is stored on the watch when you do not have your phone with you.

The logistical nightmare about the Apple Watch has gotten even crazier. I was just watching the 10 minute intro video with Jony Ive again and noticed this:

Those are Apple Watch Editions, with Sport Bands that have GOLD SNAPS (or whatever they are called). So apparently the bands will be customized for each collection. This is crazy.

No, that's not crazy at all. Did you expect them to use mismatched SS snaps for those? There are only six Edition models so not really a logistical nightmare.

All the bands in the Edition collection are customized for each model with yellow or rose gold accents and even the crown cap is color-coded to match the color of the strap. As a result, you won't be able to change out the bands on those (at least without looking like a major faux pas).

Agreed. If you put music on it there will surely be a way to see its storage usage and capacity.

That's assuming the crown cap color can't be changed out.

Why are people stuck on the idea that the SS models will start at $1000? That's the prediction for the high-end SS models with the link bracelet. A majority of the SS models are likely to be less than that so they're not really ignoring that segment of the market.

Well, I'm basing that on what Gruber predicted. He said stainless will START at $1000, didn't he?

Apple's market share is broadly similar in the UK vs the US - 47% in the US for iPhones in December 2014, vs 42% in the UK. That isn't a big enough difference to make them a "status symbol" in the UK but not the US.

Apple have a fairly dominant (40% +) market share in North America, Australia, UK and Japan. But in other western countries like Germany, Italy, and France their share is a lot smaller (< 20%).

Hang on a moment.
Are you saying 40% of people in the UK, who own a computer have a Mac computer?
As I'd say that is way out, and I mean WAY as in galactic terms of distance!

I think they meant on Apple products in general.

Don't you agree though that Mac's are far more rarely seen? You see them a lot in Universities, but in the real world, they aren't common.

Exactly.

All of my friends who handle inventory at Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized resellers are absolutely dreading this product line. Like, they thought it was bad when the iPhone was available in three sizes, for three different carriers, in two different colors, etc... I truly do not envy the logistics end of this launch.

Now we know why there's no, and probably never will be, a white colour option for the screen!

I mean, it would look awful on a Watch anyway but imagine that. With a white screen option it would be 68 SKU's, and let's say it was with 2 storage sizes, that's 136 SKU's. Madness!

Others have already pointed to the exclusivity argument, but I just wanted to add, I'm not really looking for inexpensive, just reasonable.....

Some people are misreading. I did NOT say the SS is an exclusive watch. I said the SS is "more fashion exclusivity" than the Sport. This will almost certainly be true.

There are only 6 Edition models with one-of-a-kind bands exclusive to each model. Why would this be considered a logistical nightmare?

6 Editions, 10 Sports, 18 SS, and I'm not sure how many straps to be sold individually. Sounds like a logistical nightmare to me.

Well add 18 SS and 10 Sports watches and all the individual straps/bracelets and you have a "logistical nightmare' number of SKUs.

EDIT: Night Spring is faster on the click.:D

Man how do other companies that sell way more product SKUs than Apple do it?

Just did a quick count and it looks like there are 30 individual straps/bracelets

So it would be 64 SKUs for the :apple:Watch line. That is a fair amount of inventory for 1 product line.

Don't see how this is excessive. Many companies have SKUs numbered in the hundreds or even thousands.

Are you saying 40% of people in the UK, who own a computer have a Mac computer?

No, 42% of people in the UK who bought a smart phone (in December 2014) bought an iPhone.

Obviously Mac share is much lower, as it is anywhere in the world.

On the other hand, if you go into Starbucks or Costa and count the laptops on any given day, I'll bet there's a very good chance that > 40% of them will be Macs. So maybe those Macs are status symbols after all!
