Don't see how this is excessive. Many companies have SKUs numbered in the hundreds or even thousands.

I did NOT say excessive. I said a "fair amount". While other companies may have experience at this it is unprecedented for Apple to handle so my SKUs for 1 product line. So it will be a new and challenging experience for Apple.

Cool. I'll take the 42mm SS with black leather band, a white sport band, and Apple care.

Chaaa-Ching! $1100

Apple seemed to handle it just fine when iPods came in every color in the rainbow. If they couldn't handle it they wouldn't be doing it.

I think they meant on Apple products in general.

Don't you agree though that Mac's are far more rarely seen? You see them a lot in Universities, but in the real world, they aren't common.

Indeed, I only know 1 person at work who has an iMac.
I've never known anyone personal with one, everyone I've ever known has PC's

No, 42% of people in the UK who bought a smart phone (in December 2014) bought an iPhone.

Obviously Mac share is much lower, as it is anywhere in the world.

On the other hand, if you go into Starbucks or Costa and count the laptops on any given day, I'll bet there's a very good chance that > 40% of them will be Macs. So maybe those Macs are status symbols after all!

The last quarter numbers seem a bit pointless to be honest.
Apple finally, after years bought out a large screen iPhone.
Just after that, a lot of people got the new larger screen iPhone.

Don't really see anything majorly surprising in that. It's what you would of expected really.
If people have been waiting for anything for years, and it becomes available, then one would expect a surge in sales just after wouldn't you?

Seems your 42% was a tad optimistic (I thought it sounded on the high side)

It was only 20%
