Best machines either the wife or I have owned. Can't wait to slap a refreshed ATD on it for desktop use.

I love mine. I got the 2.3/16/512 model, and haven't looked back. Screen is perfect, the keyboard and trackpad are amazing and it is crazy fast. There is a very little lag in some things, but it isn't noticeable.

What is noticeable though is the retina screen. I can code for 7/8 hours in a day (Uni) and not have sore eyes after it which is something that I cannot say about any other computer I have used. On top of that, it's got amazing battery (on lowest brightness it's still perfectly usable and you'll get 10 hours) and is as portable as an ultrabook. Close to perfect as I can imagine.

Anyone who has actually used the RMBP would never say the non-retina adobe apps look "really good", even at 1900x1200 where performance significantly drops to the point where just panning around large psds slow to a halt.

For me since I'm primarily in the video world 90% of my work in photoshop is for HD or smaller frame size, so I'm usually never dealing with over 2 megapixels. As someone who deals daily with different screens of differing size, resolution, and overall quality (I work at an AV company) I find the scaled UI is very adequate at the moment to do work on for what I need. Of course the retina updates will be a fantastic upgrade and once they are here I won't look back, but I am still pleased with the work I can do now.

I'd ignore stevelam, he turns up in every thread with the same oft-disproved criticism. The fact you are actually doing real work without problems is far more pertinent to this thread than stevelam's inane and incorrect oneliners...

I'm content. A 15" retina is fantastically awesome, and the display itself is brilliant. Love the thin profiles, beautiful machine. Draw back is slight light bleed, and occasional system lags. It's virtually gone now, but having to go through a months of those lag as a first impression just didn't sit well.

I personally am, being an audio guy and staying on planes and hotel rooms for a massive amount of time this machine is heaven, and it handles logic really well when I need to do mixing on the go, I work as a photographer too and that is the main reason I got this notebook, post-processing on it is awesome, if you have the money go for it, buy an external USB 3.0 drive and be even happier.

Every machine has issue, even the most perfect one. And why we are so keen on rMBP, that's because we expect it so much. Even my rMBP has got a little bit IR issue (LG screen), I am still happy to have it, I still think it's worth my fortune for it. If you like one and you can afford one, then I highly recommend "go get one and enjoy"

There has been so many threads on this, varying from "Do you like it?" to "Would you trade it for XXX?"; the answer is the same. I love my MacBook Pro with Retina display and I wouldn't trade it for any other computer right now.

overall, this is the most amazing computer i've ever owned and i love it.

but

in OSX, i'm getting weird tearing issues with web pages like Gmail in safari. the worst of it is fixed with a restart.

I also have one stuck bright pixel on the screen just right of center, which is annoying.

i will probably buy applecare at some point.

I expect some hardware issues with any Rev-A apple hardware.

I've never been so satisfied when buying a new laptop before. It's only the price that bumps me in the back sometimes when I look at it.

I also have no problems with the screen. It's the minority speaking up and the satisfied staying quiet.

The 'satisfied' rise / jump to the occasion at ever post about concerns, you all pipe right up every chance, you, the 'satisfied' get to boast and endorse / praise :apple: pay homage etc etc, are you kidding, quiet?? HA!
:apple: Should seriously start paying people to highly rave about their new toys.

On that note, 'apple' should pay anyone who takes 'time' out of their lives to make a case, bring up concerns and challenges their practices. Let me make it very clear to you the 'satisfied' - that it is us the 'minorities' who built this world and are making it better for your 'satisfaction'.

Just wish it was cooler when using it on my lap.

Live in Siberia often? They don't feel a thing while these machines are ironing their leg hairs. Laptop doesn't literally mean use on laps, look it up, everywhere online they advise not to actually use 'notebooks' as :apple: refers to them, on your lap or near your lower regions...

glad that youre one of the lucky ones. people with samsung panels are mostly happy. people with LG panels havent checked it out yet or the IR hasnt shown up yet. my first one took 3 weeks before it showed up.
