I saw this article yesterday and got an email from Apple saying my rMBP will be shipping sooner. Current status says preparing to ship...I hope it ships today :D!

This thing can't get here any sooner. Watching the benchmark videos and such...I can't wait to try this out and begin editing videos/photos. Ordered mine on the 7/31

Didn't even bother waiting. Bought a hi-res 15" MBP with the same battery life, CPU and RAM as the top end rMBP for $2300.

Also includes more ports, more storage and an optical drive. That to me is worth far more than an SSD of dubious benefit and a slightly higher resolution display which has almost no practical applications. I don't even notice the Retina display on my iPad now. It's just another display. The rMBP is more money for less.

The new Pro is good enough to make the old Pro (even the updated version) look and feel obsolete. It pushes and redefines the category, raising the bar higher than even its brethren can jump. If you can afford the premium and aren't set on a 13-inch model there's no reason to buy any Pro other than this Pro.

lololol ArcaneDevice is a newb.

Question...

I ordered my rMBP on 24 July when the 1 to 2 weeks were set to my apple country website. Now is 4th of Aug. That means 13 days. Is it wrong to assume, my order whitch i ordered in our apple certified reseller shop will be arriveing somewere next weak?

That's 11 days, but it means it could ship anytime in the next couple days, but if they mean 14 business days that excludes weekends. Hang tight.

I ordered my rmbp 6 hours before the shipping estimate changed. I never received any emails about an earlier shipment however the shipping estimate did change to 5-7 days on the tracking page BUT my delivery date actually got pushed back to 15-17 originally from 13-20....

I just got an email from Apple saying, "We are pleased to inform you that your recent Macbook Pro order will ship sooner than expected. Your order will now ship within 5-7 days."

But my shipping estimate is now August 14th-16th. That doesn't seem like an improvement.

On Saturday, August 4th, Apple sent me a text saying my rMBP had shipped, and would arrive on August 8th! So I got the benefit of the faster handling time after all, it just didn't update the orders page. Woo! Wednesday!

Strange. Others usually sleep for a couple of weeks in front of an Apple store when there is a new product launch and you are only now interested in buying a Retina MacBook Pro...?

You know, not every one is rich. I had to save up... .:p:p
