same bleeping issue!! Apple told me wait 24 - 48 hours. returned on Sep 29th and still can't buy today on the 30th. super frustrated like everyone else, watching iPhone 6 plus become available and then *poof* gone. driving me crazy, major first world problems here!

I had canceled my iphone 6 order through Apple the morning of September 18th and I JUST got my eligibility back today. Took a few phone calls to AT&T to get this resolved. Was a frustrating process as I was lied to a few times about getting callbacks and when it would be reset. But I'm happy now. good luck to those canceling their orders.

So were you able to determine if the problem was on ATT's end or Apple's? I've been waiting for mine to reset since the 27th. Verizon shows as good (as well as through other 3rd party resellers), but Apple still says I have an existing order.

I went to the store today and they sold me an iPhone 6 plus. Now all is right in my world!

Phone calls to Apple and AT&T were unsuccessful. Still couldn't purchase 48 hours after returning the 6.

Do you mean you were getting the error message online or the app, so you went to the store and they somehow bypassed it?

Am curious because I returned mine on the 29th around 5:30pm.
Apple admitted it was their servers that were taking it's time to reset, and that max is 3 days. However seeing some people here have been unable to order even after 3 days

I'm in the same boat. Returned 27th and still have been waiting for reseting apple website info,my carrier show that I am eligible for update though

Yes, I got the error on both the website and the app. So frustrating. They were able to process the sale without any error.

I love the 6 plus. Got the silver and I have to admit I really like the white face. And the camera is amazing.

Hmm interesting. I wonder if the same error showed up on their end or not at all. Either way that means you were able to walk In and they happened to have a 6 plus in stock?

I guess it really depends, on Monday, I went in to get it exchanged. I used AT&T Next, and upon returning the launch day device, I got my eligibility back instantly the moment the return was processed, and I was able to get new one on the same day.

Yesterday, I decided to return the device and just get the device only. So apparently this time, on my AT&T account it shows that I'm not eligible. But of course, I chatted with AT&T and they said that it may take a few days. But for me, I don't care as I purchased the iphone device only.

They didn't get the error at all. They said they were out of stock but the website said they had phones available at that location (Grand Central, New York City). Anyway they made an exception for me. I mean, why would they turn away someone who wants to pay $500 for a phone??

Anybody else have any luck? I finally got the refund back on my card but still cannot place an order online or the app.
I may just try going to the store if they have one available and if able to purchase that way

Nope, five days and counting for me. Got my refund three days ago.

Are you going to keep waiting it out? Or will you try going to a store? Bummer that their servers are taking this long

I don't think I have any other choice (other than ordering through Verizon and waiting a month to get the phone). I'm not sure they would be able to sell me a phone in-store since from Apple's perspective, I have no eligible upgrade to use.

I just hope I don't see them in stock near me again before this gets sorted out, that would be too painful to bear. ;)

A bunch just showed up in stock in SoCal and I can't order one.

Had this happen to me I just got really persistent and requested to speak to the supervisor she then reversed my upgraded right away.... The way thing is BS. The supervisor can push the reverse right away.

Mention you had a friend speak to a supervisor and they were able to reverse the upgrade right away. Worked for me and a friend. They just don't tell you this.

Dang! I returned my 6 bought on contract so that I could re-buy it on the Next plan. My upgrade eligibility was reset on the spot in real time. This was a preorder from Apple.com that was physically returned to an Apple store. Guess I beat the odds.

Hey I spoke with an Apple supervisor and said this was impossible because it is a glitch that is affecting everyone who ordered through Apple.com or App, and then returned it to a store. I mentioned to her what you advised, and she said if you were having the exact issue (online order and in-store return) if you can provide who you spoke with how they reversed it. Do you happen to know this information? They said its a known glitch as of right now but no ETA on when it'll be fixed

So on Tuesday I returned my phone and was on att next. Apple sales said that my att next should be reset. Anyways I purchased the new iPhone 6 plus device only. Checked my att account after I got home and still said I'm ineligible for the next upgrade or 2 year.

I then chatted with att on Tuesday and was told to wait 2-3 days. Well today I checked my account and still says that I'm ineligible, I then chatted with att again and explained the story. The supervisor tried to reverse the upgrade but it would let her since I was told that I purchased it at the Apple Store and directed me to go to the Apple Store.

So I go to the Apple Store and explain the situation and tells me that it is att problem and directs me to go to att store. Then I go to att store and explain the situation and the rep tried to be helpful and calls the customer service. He explains the situation that I told then puts a long hold. Up fortunate I was told the same that they can't do anything but I request them to contact Apple sote manager and do a conference call. I spoke with the Apple Store manager and and was told to come to the Apple Store.

So I take my box and all other evidence to show proof to the store manager. Ironically it was the guy who processed my return on Tuesday so he is aware of my situation. He explained and said that he will have to get in touch with the att rep that works with the Apple Store so he goes back and attempts and later comes out that he is unable to reach so I give him my information so that when he emails her that she will have my info needed.

I should be expecting a call or an email from them hopefully on Monday or so to resolve this issue. I would be pissed if I was charged for the phone when I have already returned it. This blows

I did not deal with Apple. After I returned my phone to apple store, I called ATT and they did the reverse me.

Update for anyone still having this issue. I went to the store and purchased the phone with no problems. As someone else mentioned doing it this way, the store employee did not even come across any error messages when putting the purchase through.

Hope you got yours back by now. Anyways, I only contacted ATT about this as my order with Apple was canceled, and they said they saw it as canceled, so it should've have been anything on Apples end. But who knows. ATT had opened a ticket to a higher department about 7 days into this mess before I finally got my eligibility back. when I called ATT their supervisor tried to reverse the eligibility, but apparently was denied.

Still can't order through apple.com bc of this issue. I returned my upgrade order and have had my eligibility restored through Verizon and other 3rd party retailers, but apple.com still hasn't reset. Doesn't look like it will ever reset and is rather annoying. Has anyone found a solution to this or even contacted apple about it?

iPhone 6 eligibility plague

I am also currently dealing with the same eligibility issue. Ordered an iPhone 6 plus on Apples website on October 2, 2014 with the white bezel. After several hours I couldn't get past the white bezel and returned it the same day. I was told my eligibility would be reset within 24-48 hrs. Today is October 10, 2014 and my eligibility is still screwed up. I loved the way Apple tried to pass the blame onto AT&T. I wish AT&T 's 28-35 business day delivery for the 6 plus wasn't so ridiculous. I did the calculations and that's about 6-7 weeks. I have spoken to Apple on numerous occasions involving this issue and I finally got an honest answer. I was told they are aware of the problem and are working on it. Apple claims this is an issue that is affecting only AT&T customers. Furthermore Apple stated they do not have a definite time frame when it will be fixed. It's looking more like a 6-7 week wait for me. One thing is for sure ever since Jobs passed away Apple has had some serious hiccups.:apple:

It's not just ATT customers, I'm on Verizon and I've been waiting since the 27th of September for my eligibility to return through the Apple online store. I even had an online store management rep help me through this and still no luck as of yet.

I just bit the bullet and ordered through Verizon... 3 weeks to go. :(
