My window ends tomorrow, I've been so close so many times to returning it but it's still in my hand.

I feel ripped off by apple but after seeing what Google are charging for the 3xl maybe not so much. Seriously those guys must be on drugs.

You feel ripped off? You act like you were forced to spend over $1000 on a phone! Talk about 1st world problems!!!

I had the max for two weeks and was originally going to switch carriers and rebuy the max on a different carrier on a family plan.
But after having it for two weeks and liking it for the most part. It was a little harder to use then an X but the screen was nice. Now that I returned it and went back to an X I'm just not sure its even worth going back to a max as this phone just feels exactly the same. The camera was a little better but software wise the X feels just as fast and not old one bit.
Im just feeling like I shouldn't cancel my plan and just hold onto my X for longer now. My mom will be mad as she is on a 6+ and wanted to get the new xr.
[doublepost=1539221770][/doublepost]I don’t know how old you are, if you’re over 18, let her get what She wants, and get a job, and buy what you want. Mammy is done covers your expenditures, get a pair, grow up

I had planned on going back to my X but since I'm on the ATT next plan ATT told me they couldn't put me back into an old contract so I went with the XS. The max is an awesome phone but for me personally it was too big.

What? I’m 36...
she’s not the best with getting new technology and her phone isn’t doing the best.
It’s the smartest thing to have a family plan if they have a deal where you get another phone for free basically(BOGO).
She doesn’t want to be spending 1000$ on a phone she said. I’m just trying to help her out and get her a phone and just pay for mine and she has no payment.
But thanks for telling me to grow up and get a job. Now you can leave...

Did you have the old contract before you got this new phone? It should go back to the old plan if you return it within that 14 days.

Went to the Apple store again tonight to play around with the XS Max.

If you have an X as I do I just can’t see how one can consider it an upgrade, although no hate. If you want it, go for it.

To me it literally just seems like a bigger X/XS. The built in apple apps are not even optimized for the bigger screen.

The camera is for sure better that’s one thing I’ll give it, but for $1300 if I didn’t already have a DSLR, it’d make more sense to me to buy one and have money left over if picture I wasn’t happy with the X cam.

Having one for 2 weeks as my daily driver you get a really good feel for it and yes it doesnt feel any different usability wise. The screen was nice for video but handling the phone has its annoyances. I don’t feel like this S upgrade is anything special. The last S upgrade in my eyes that was worth it was 6-6S.
Apple needs to upgrade the software big time. Phones don’t feel different anymore. The max should have a lot of extra features to take advantage of the screen. Hoping iOS 13 is a big change.

That is fair. Personally, I find the larger devices much more cumbersome for my usage. I still use my phone for social media, pictures, videos, etc. and enjoy doing so. The beautiful thing about the XS and XS Max is that you lose zero specs by going with the smaller device unlike previous iPhones.
I agree. It being cumbersome but having an awesome display is why i'm so in the middle about this. That along with the fact i'll be dealing with whatever decision i'll make likely for the next 2-3 years.

You explained the situation with your mom extremely horribly and so that is what he/people assumed. You shouldn’t get mad at people for your lack of detail.

I don’t have to explain anything in detail to anybody. If you give me a smart ass remark you shouldn’t expect anything nice in return.
Assuming things is what I don’t like. Be nice about things. There’s no reason to comment like that

Preordered the max and got it launch day, went on the 22nd and returned it and picked up the XS. Came from an X and I couldn’t get used to the max size and I used to only have the plus phones. For me, the x/XS is the perfect size phone. I find the screen the perfect size.

It's way, way too early to tell how developers will adapt to iOS12 or what Apple will do in later updates in the next year. I understand giving a phone 2 weeks but the OS has a long way to go.

No way! The Max isn't that much bigger in size. Took a few days to adjust (just like when I switched to the 6s Plus from the 6) and now it just feels like a normal phone. Speed wise I don't notice that big of a difference but I do like the bigger screen and battery.

Nah I like the bigger size now. Took me a little, but I adjusted. I also feel the camera, Face ID, LTE/WiFi speeds, and battery life has been a nice upgrade also. For an extra $4 on my bill, easy decision.
I really feel like all those other things I don't notice going back to an X. The camera is the only difference from normal everyday things.
Battery life is better obviously on the max though.

iPhone X is the best iPhone I have ever owned. I tried the XS went back to my X. The truth is they’re the same home and everyday I wake up I still feel as though it’s a XS...

Just didn’t have the need nor want this year.

Just curious. Did you notice a little improvement in battery life on the XS compared to the X?

That's fair, I am sure it varies for everyone. It ultimately comes down to the value for you. I am assuming you aren't on a yearly upgrade plan?

Nope I paid off my x right away last year when I got it. I was on a yearly after the 7+ I had. I always did subsidies before that with the 6+ and every two years before since the 3g.

Yes. The battery life was a tad bit better. Personally I have not had issues with battery life on the X though, but I say the XS got me about an hour longer screen on time.

people still dont understand that's the entire point of the phone? People wanted a bigger X. Its not supposed to be much else.

That's why in the next sentence I said "The built in apple apps are not even optimized for the bigger screen."

If you take a device and make it bigger without optimizing it, in certain aspects it can be viewed as worse.

That's what I thought but they told me they "couldn't put me back into my old contract" so I don't know. I wound up just getting the XS instead.
