I’ve decided I’m going to return my 13 Pro Max.

I was thinking for weeks if I should upgrade my X to the PM as the X was the perfect size phone for me. However, I was convinced I’d loved the screen size for watching and web browsing etc.

However, I’ve now had an achy hand for 2 days!haha

Will be returning this and purchasing a 13 Pro when they become available, or I’ll just order and wait the 4-5 weeks for delivery. :(

You should check apple.com. When you select a model of your choice but shows not available for pick up at that apple store, if you actually click on it, it will also check to see if other apple stores around you will have it in stock. If they do and you are able to drive that far, I'd order it online for in-store pick up.

Other option is check your local apple store as they still may have some stock available for walk ins.

I went from a 11PM down to a 13 Pro. I used to always do the plus size phones, until I got the X and loved the form factor. Went from the X to the 11PM (last two phones are the first time in years I wasn’t tempted to upgrade every year…)

At first I love the screen size, but I dropped the 11PM more than any phone I have ever owned. The last year and a half I’ve been dealing with a medical issue with nerve pain in my arms that had made that situation even worse. It got to the point where, at times, I had to put the phone down on a table to use it. So I dropped in size for more ease in grip, and I was very happy to see a return to the flat sides on the phone the last couple of years (I have always hated the round edges).

I get you. I have missed the smaller form factor.

For what it’s worth, I would suggest that you give the pro max some time before you give up on it. I went through this same thing way back when the 6 plus first came out. I ordered one and as much as I loved the screen size I hated the size and weight of the phone and I wound up returning it and getting a 6. But as soon as I did I realized that I really missed the bigger screen. I lived with the 6 for several months and then I finally wound up selling the 6 and buying another 6 plus and I’ve used the plus/max phones ever since and never looked back.

Honestly, the year of the X almost killed me because there was no larger phone that year, but it also helped to remind me how much I liked the bigger phones, so I got an XS Max on launch day.

All I’m trying to say is that size and weight of the big phone is a bit of a shock at first, but you definitely can get used to it if you give it a little time. If you like the screen size (and/or battery life) of the max, then give it more than 2 days before you decide to give up on it.

I’m returning my 13 Pro and going back to my iPhone X today. Just way to heavy and uncomfortable to hold compared to my old phone. The upgrade even after 4 years is nothing special. Hoping for the iPhone 14 to be better.

Lol the 14 gonna be 300 grams haha. But seeing the 14 design it would be a whole design change so they might make it lighter tbf. I would wait as next year the 13 will look ancient with the new redesign no point xD

i think everyone is different. i remember when i first got the 6. it felt cumbersome after my 4s, and everyone claimed "you'll get used to it and prefer it." which... i guess i survived with it. but smaller phones have always continued to feel more comfortable. i was hellbent on the mini for that reason, but ended up getting wooed by battery, promotion, and cameras on the 13 pro.

i gotta say... i do absolutely HATE holding this device, and i don't think thats gonna change. my ideal phone would definitely be one that had all the features of the pros but the form factor/weight of the mini. and i get it... the increased size is what houses the features, so its a trade-off and i have to decide which things matter more to me.

but it is a trade off nonetheless, and i'm pretty sure i will continue to dislike how clunky this phone feels, even if i manage to get by with it.

I'm finding something similar with 13 Pro having moved from an 11 Pro. I didn't even pay attention to the increase in size as it seemed so small, but I've definitely discovered there's a limit to phone size for me and this is it.
Not going to return the 13 Pro as I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I'm now praying that Apple have reached the limit of their size creep....

I went from a 12 pro to a 13 pro max. The transition has been quite easy. I do notice the extra weight when it’s in my pocket.

I agree. I thought the 11 Pro was heavy when I first got it - it feels like a feather compared to the 13 pro. I still like the 13 but hope they reduce weight in the future and don’t increase the size any more.

The trade off is the tough part. I’m in exactly the same boat. Accept the size and weight (and cost) In exchange for the telephoto. I know there’s more than the telephoto I’m getting, but that is the only reason I’m considering the Pro instead of the mini.

Will I be annoyed THAT much? Will I use the telephoto THAT much? Judgement call.

I think the 13 Pro still has great battery life.

although I travelled to London this weekend for the AJ fight and wow, the battery on this 13 PM was phenomenal!

Yeah, it’s true that everyone is different and the pro max is definitely not the right phone for everyone. My comment was more for people who thought that they would love the big screen and got turned off by their first impression of the size and weight. I just wanted to encourage them to give it a little time because I think you can get used to it. Or maybe they’ll discover that it’s still too much and return it anyway. But that’s ok too.

Everyone has their priorities. In my case, I charge my phone every night and I work from home, so even if the phone gets low during the day it’s no problem for me to stick it back on the charger for a bit. I love the pro max for the big screen, but the battery life doesn’t really do much for me. Frankly, I’d prefer the phone to be lighter, even if that means a smaller battery and less battery life.

Best size and comfort was had in the 11Pro for me. The 12Pro I had sucked for ergonomics, 13P is even fatter

Buy an apple refurb 11 pro

I struggle a bit with the extreme size of the Pro or PM. The standard iPhone is the perfect size to hold and use one-handed. But I have found the PM offers enough to be worth the tradeoff.
