LOL…6.2L V8. It’s like a double middle finger to, well, everyone who doesn’t drive one of these land barges.

Beautiful, a brand new Canyon Arrow! That car definitely makes a statement, not one I'd personally like to make, but a statement none the less.

Wireless CarPlay would be nice. My F150 has a great CarPlay interface, but its still wired.

For a supposed luxury vehicle, there sure is a lot of cheap looking materials. My <$40K Mazda CX-5 looks more premium.

For the price of the vehicle, the Infotainment setup looks like it was an afterthought. Not very well laid out, in my opinion.
The dashboard in the big US SUVs always seem like an afterthought because they are derived from trucks platforms.

Seriously, that is an unnecessarily big engine, especially given who drives these vehicles (suburban families shuttling their kids between school and sports practice). While in Europe people are zooming around just fine in 1.0L 3 cylinder engines that average 40-50MPG.

So they put all this 21st high-tech wizardry into it… and then throw it back into the 20th century with an ICE.
Am amazed any manufacturer is launching such vehicles given the bans most western countries have coming in the near future.
The future is electric.
The future will be electric once you can charge an electric car as fast as you can put gas into it, AND when there are the same or more charge stations everywhere you go.

I'll never understand why a vehicle like that makes 4x4 an optional add-on. Who buys something like that in a two-wheel drive??
Generally 4x4 is less fuel efficient.

Also, a lot of customers for this type of vehicle buy it as a status symbol, for the interior size/passenger/cargo capacity, it's high seating position, etc.

It will almost exclusively be driven over freeways, and suburban and city streets.

And in America (where it is built), there is a high amount of contiguous land that doesn't get any conditions that necessitate four-wheel drive.

When the empty vehicle weighs 5,800 pounds, and you can tow up to 7,700 ADDITIONAL pounds, you certainly don't want to run out of engine power and torque.

General Motors understands their customer base.

Please do tell me, how often do you drive 500 km NON STOP?
oh, never? Never did I. You know, there’s this thing called bladder range. Unless you got rid of it it kinda limits how far can you go. And Tesla for example usually is ready to go again in less than 20 minutes

That's expansive? I have a recent BMW 330 that has a much wider screen (5 icons across, 10.25").
Yeah the comments by the reviewer don’t make sense. Plenty of other brands utilise an increasingly industry-standard 10.25 or 12.3-inch widescreen display, and CarPlay takes up the whole screen with more content and icons than what it shown in this Cadillac.

Heck, the aftermarket CarPlay interface that I installed in my 2011 BMW with an 8.8-inch widescreen takes full advantage and shows more content.

As often as I want to, as many times as I've needed to, and more often than you think.

oh, never? Never did I.
Presumptuous comment. I have driven literally across the continental United States several times, in pretty much every direction. I never made it to Alaska, though (which reminds me, I really need to renew my passport). Some people never leave their city/town/country in their entire life though, so perhaps that's you?

Is it in any way the same as fuel tank capacity? /s

And Tesla for example usually is ready to go again in less than 20 minutes
And I can fill my gas tank in 5 minutes. And I can store gas in multiple cheap containers extending my range from sea to sea if I wanted to, all without the need to access external infrastructure between fill-ups. With any ICE vehicle. From the cheapest to the most luxuriously decadent.

NON STOP? You need to take a break anyway, but it depends on the work you do.

I have a friend, a veterinary technician who goes to vaccinate and health check cows, pigs and other farm animals on daily basis. On average, he travels around 300 km, sometimes more. It depends how far he must drive. Here where I live, there are a lot of scattered settlements and farms, so you have to travel long to reach whatever your destination is.

I also know some people, who drive from a country town or village to work in a bigger city and the distance can be more than 250 km in on way! And than back again.

I have the same problem with CarPlay not taking advantage of the whole screen. I have an Mercedes GLC 2020, and CarPlay looks odd on my display… but i guess is Mercedes fault.

The future may be electric, but the present is not. The bans on ICE are coming in 2035 and they are only on the sale if new ICE vehicles. ICE will be around for the next 40-50 years.

Happens when you leave the vehicle running without driving anywhere.
Idle time will kill MPG numbers real quick. I suspect that this was running at idle for sometime while the review was in progress.
My truck gets 17-25MPG, but let it idle at school pickup for 15-20 minutes every day and watch the average MPG drop like a stone.
Or you turn the engine off. I dunno, get out the car even? Afraid you'll melt? Jeez

Amazing apple still refuses to let the iPhones wirelessly charge at more than 7.5 unless you use their proprietary charger.. Come on Apple. Also what is the point of wireless CarPlay if you are going to slow charge it wirelessly? Might as well just plug it in and go.
For use cases where charging isn't an issue, Wireless CarPlay is much more convenient. It's great to get in and out of my car and leave my iPhone in my pocket.

In my BMW, turning directions from Apple CarPlay appear in the head up display, but only if I use Apple Maps for navigation. If I use Google Maps instead, the directions only appear on the screen. I assume this is a restriction imposed by Apple, but I'm not sure.
