I agree. I’ve got a 2020 Civic, and I find these newer ones are so bland and generic looking in comparison.Wow. That’s a Civic? It’s hard to tell them apart from the Accord’s at quick glance.

Agreed. they always look like an afterthought. maybe it's just me, but I personally think this whole car looks kinda outdated already! no wow factor inside or out. (no offence to those who have this model)I really don’t like the look of these popup displays. They should be built in. It looks better.
Amazing, how much has the Civic (CCVC) has changed over the years. From 2 doors sardines can, to the present![]()
Nope not at all. The way they done the pad the phone doesn’t move really.Nice car.
Maybe it stops wireless charging for some people because the car is moving and the phone slides around. Does it charge when the car is parked...
That appears to be horrendous to interact with. Why must auto infotainment UI's be so hideous? I realize they have to be a tad clunky for ease of use/visibility while driving, but I feel they can really date a vehicle with such a sleek interior otherwise (VW, Honda, Cadillac to name a few). Mazda has really stepped it up in recent years:

I believe it's non-touch screen so I guess that does play a factor. ? - Knob scrolling & clicking. That appears to be horrendous to interact with.
The 2021 Blazer has both USB C and A for data and charging. It was the first time I saw USB C in a car.If wired USB C is the default for most newer phones, why aren't they including this in newer 2022 cars? Seems strange.
By your logic, the car makers and/or Apple wanted to make more money by using a cheap cable years ago and should have been using a more expensive wireless connection that was less reliable until recently? I think you have let your cynicism get a little out of hand. You can charge your phone and be wireless. 2 different things. And wait till you forget your phone in the car, plugged in, and get your windows smashed to steal your phone… wireless should be the way to go, they had the tech from the start, they just want to make more money out of it.
Wireless Carplay uses an adhoc wifi to connect to the phone. that does not require the wifi comm unit to act as an internet hotspot. Still, the parts are there so it would not be surprising that any car providing wireless CarPlay would also offer the Wi-Fi hotspot as an option.I believe wireless CarPlay needs a WiFi vehicle hotspot. Not all cars come with one.
I would guess that it works like Bluetooth. You can have multiple devices configured to connect to the car, but can define one device to have priority over the other. This is my biggest concern about Wireless CarPlay. Does it not work with multiple devices well?
That last Civic looked like it was designed by an eleven-year-old boy with crayons trying to copy Alienware gamer toys. This new one is less offensive. Also I can’t believe they killed the civic coupe and took a major step backwards on edgy design from the last gen. Cars are so boring looking these days
