Sensational headlines like “Why you shouldn't buy a MacBook Air” or the latest one is a title like “Don’t make a mistake!”
Even Rene Richie is getting in on it with the goofy thumbnail posing.

It’s a battle for views, but Marques Brownlee shows you can be successful without resort to shouting and over-the top headlines.

I was really disappointed when I saw Rene resorting to the words *LEAK BOMB* in his titles. So much so I unsubscribed and started telling YouTube not to show me his videos.

The stench of *clickbate* is vomit inducing.

Yeah, Rene’s “Don’t Make a Mistake!” titles and thumbnail poses are off putting. Oh well.

I agree, it would be ok if you have a major exclusive leak, but not if you are just going over rumours we have already read about here.

My gripe, and maybe it's just me, is that it seems most of the YouTubers take ten minutes to present information conveyable in two sentences.

Eight minutes since late July, as it happens.

But I get what you mean.

I really enjoy Dave2D's videos, even if he doesn't go into massive details.

I don't mind Dave Lee's videos.

Except like many others, I wish he's forgo a 'first impressions' video until he gets product in hand.

I have first impressions too, but don't have access to the product. I'm looking to those who do to actually use, test, and then post a video review.

I know his thumbnails looking concerned at a photo of an iphone or something drive me crazy

That is always helpful. Also, props to Dave for generally posting thumbnails of the tech rather than himself grimacing etc.

Big Sur has been out for several days. I doubt there was an embargo on it.
Yeah - Arstechnica has had their Big Sur review up since the 12th.

If I had to guess on an embargo date/time I'd say today at 10am PST - same time of day as keynote.

Complete guess so take it for what that's worth.

There was no Big Sur embargo.
I understand. Usually The Verge will try to stagger their related reviews throughout a day, though. Hence my suggestion that them releasing their software review at 11AM could be promptly followed by a hardware review at 12 or 1. Just speculation and guesswork because that's all we have.

I don't think any review units were sent out and therefore I think no embargos are set. I've seen some reviewers who usually get reviewer units that actually ordered the laptops.
I could be wrong tho.
I think you are correct. Pretty much ever Mac youtuber said they ordered a machine and would be getting it tomorrow

It’s about now when we see MacRumors reporting people in Australia/ New Zealand getting the new hardware. Really surprised there’s no YT videos.

GN really is the gold standard of reviews. Too bad they really don't have anything to do with Apple (and if you've seen the PowerMac G5 videos, are pretty clueless in general about them). But they're very much into the DIY-ethic and Apple products just don't appeal to those kinds of guys.
I love watching GN videos but they’re not only specific to Windows hardware but only gaming hardware. It’s like a small subset of a subset. I don’t think they would be interested in Apple silicon at all

I think they have been sent out, The Tech Chap at the start of his interview with Bob Borchers and Tim Millet (12 Nov) states in the first 20 seconds that he has one but can't show us yet.
