you can now only buy the darker version at an apple store, if you store carries the lighter version as well, then that means that package have been there for a while .. anywho, i swapped out my smoked for another one because the fitment on the previous one was *******. i learn to like the darker version now.

Replacement case

Got an Incase Snap Clear case through the Apple program and after 4 months, I had to get it replaced. For some reason, a piece on the upper left hand corner cracked and broke off. I've dropped my phone once and everything was fine so I'm not sure if that's the sole cause of it.

There's a one year warranty on the case and Incase customer service was great. The lady was super nice and pointed me out to their online warranty claim. I was even able to get the Smoke case instead of the Clear after reading all the positive reviews on the Smoke Case version.

Would you say the snap offers the same level of protection as an apple bumper with front and back screen protectors?

I think not for drops since the bumper is thicker.
But quite enough for me though.

hmmm, less protection than the bumper eh...

it's a nice case and all, but what's the point then?

To protect the back from getting scratches lol.
I've got the smoked one and one thing I have to say about the case is that it doesn't fit perfectly, the left bottom and top right corners doesn't click onto the body and the top two corners are cracked around the edge that joins the back. Could just be my copy but highly doubt it as these are mass produced

sure i guess. but you can also just put on a back screen shield. it's a very nice case, don't get me wrong, but i just don't get the point of these ultra thin cases that don't offer much protection.

Got my incase snap in 'smoke' today from the case program. The packaging says 'black frost' and it is much darker that I expected. I do like it, the way it feels is a pleasant surprise.

I'll probably soon tired of the dark/simple look so it will be interesting to see if I can stop being tight and end up paying for a different case or not.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I wanted to add my positive experience with Incase's warranty program.

I received a "smoke" snap case via the free case program and loved it. Unfortunately it developed cracks similar to the pictures posted by the user above. I had never dropped it and only took the case off once in the~4 months I had it. I filed a claim thru the Incase website and submitted photos.

About a week or so later I received an email with a RA slip which included instructions to send back the broken case for "review". This bummed me out as it was my only case and I wasn't happy with the idea of going naked while waiting for a replacement. I put off responding as I had a couple of overseas trips and needed to have the case on the phone. (This was back in late December btw).

About two weeks ago I received a UPS shipping notification from Incase and my new case arrived today! I went back and re-read the original RA info and realized that I only had to send my case back if I hadn't submitted photos in the original claim (which I had).

Long story short - I have a replacement case. It took longer than I though, but I am fine with that. I also have an extra plastic stand too now as a backup! Only thing I am a little bummed about is that the new "Frost" version is more purple than the nice charcoal color the Smoke was, but still a nice case.

Does anyone know why it was removed from the apple store and the apple store online ? is case causing damage to the phones ??

Don't know.. But it doesn't damage the phone.. I got mine for about 5 months and no problem. Same for a guy I work with.

I just submitted a warranty claim to incase. I found large cracks from the camera hole to the top of the case. When I took the case the phone I found smaller cracks in every corner. I've had this case on the phone since September and it has never been dropped.

I suggest if you have in incase snap that you inspect the corners for cracks.

FYI I have the smoke coloured one.

I had a crack (not at the same place as you) and did a claim 3 weeks ago.
They were really fast replacing it.

I am actually going to ditch my e13ctron case for this!

I am sick of over priced metal case with small headphone jack holes!
