it says Black Frost here

I emailed incase and they said that smoke and Black Frost are the same. See the email below. We'll see, I have a "Black Frost" case on the way.

i called and they told me blast frost is the same thing as smoke, but i proceeded to tell them how mine is dark purplish and the dude told me if i have a complaint then i would need to feel out a complaint off their site and mail it to them, he then told me no one else has complained about the dark color of the smoked snap case and hung up on me really quick afterwards. F#CK THEM!

I had the exact same experience when I called them. They refuse to acknowledge that the colours are different, and I don't think we should have to send this one all the way back to them to prove the point. I'm assuming they would just send the same one back anyways

I have the Clear case and love it but I just bought a brand new Smoke case on an online auction here for $15 to try as well. I'm hoping it's the more translucent case and not the darker one people are reporting getting now. That's how it appeared in the pictures anyway.
It seems to me inCase may have changed the product and the old Smoke version is now defunct in favor of this darker "Black Frost".

boycott them!
35$ for a case and the quality and appearance is not how they advertise it is and adding to poor customer service is just highway robbery! good thing most of us got this ***** for FREE.
I received my "Black Frost" snap case directly from Incase today and it is the same as the "Smoke" case shown earlier in this thread. If there are two versions of this case, I am pleased that I got the lighter version.
Nice, anyone else get theirs recently? Mine is on its way from Apple's Free Case program and looking forward to receiving it. I really hope I do not get the dark one but the smoke color. I bet Incase is keep the smoke for themslves and giving Apple a bad batch or something.

After a day of use, I absolutely love the case. I have a powersupport crystal screen on the front and previously had it in a bumper case with a Zagg invisible shield on the back. I removed the Zagg from the back but kept the powersupport on the front.
The snap just feels much better in my hand and in my pocket than the bumper. I actually don't care for the feel of the naked iphone 4. The edges are too sharp for my taste so the snap case is the perfect solution for me. I like the curves and the feel of the material and the thinness is amazing. The case feels like a part of the phone and it looks really cool".
I never thought the bumper provided much protection so I don't think I gave up much by moving to the thinner snap case. If you want bulletproof protection look elsewhere.
Just got my free one from Apple today. It is the Smoke version and its the old one that is very clear, not the newer dark version. I have had it on the phone for a few hours and just don't like it. Oh well. I'll ship it to one lucky member for $15 USPS first class tomorrow. PM me if interested. I am in Atlanta, GA BTW.

I got this same case through Apple as well. I think it looks great on the phone, however I started to have the antenna issues with this case immediately. When I use my Incipo Feather case I didn't have any of the antenna issues. So I was basically forced to ditch this case. This has probably be talked about in this thread but I just wanted to get this out there for anyone that is thinking about buying this case. If I would have bought it I would have returned it.
I got my Smoke case today. It is indeed labeled "Black Frost" but is quite translucent. I have to say I do prefer it to my Clear case but the Smoke is also a little slippery to grip. It is also not entirely immune to fingerprints and smudges although it is worlds better in that regard than the Clear case.
I see what people meant about this case actually enhancing the look of the phone. The way the Apple logo comes through it does look like something Apple themselves designed. VERY cool!
I don't see how this is possible except if the iPhone was not completely seated in the case. I thought mine was seated properly at first but then I felt around the edge and noticed that on the bottom left of the front of the phone the lip of the case was not protruding as it did on the other side. I gently pressed the phone down and it snapped in. If it is not seated your hand could have been making contact with the metal edge of the case, causing the antenna issue.
I have the antenna issue 100% with no case but 0% with the either the Smoke or Clear attached, no matter how hard I grip it.

Just received my case through the free program. The case is labeled black frost, it is translucent but still pretty dark. I will be using my NGP more often though since it gives better protection and I love the feel of the NGP. Does my case looks darker than most of your cases?
Just got my black frost case directly from incase as a replacement for a defective clear and it is the lighter color. The fit and finish of the smoke is much better than the clear. I had two clear cases and both had defects one caused water marking and did not snap in properly and the other came with a large scratch and rough cut out for the camera which caused flash pictures to wash out. The smoke/black frost is perfect, but I still prefer the look of the clear which makes the phone look like there is no case at all.
I don't know if this has been mentioned already (too many pages to read through) but I just got my Snap clear case today from the free case program and I love it except that it squeaks when I squeeze the sides as it does not fit snugly. I bought a cheap white/clear case from eBay and, while the finish is nowhere nearly as nice, it fits much better (no squeaks). Do others here have this problem?
I'm not sure what to say. For me, the case caused me to have the antenna problems. I gripped my phone the same way that I always do and I noticed the difference immediately. Even if the case wasn't "seated" all the way the entire bottom of the case would have to be off for me to be able to touch the bottom left of the phone with bare hands...
I did with the first clear case I got. The second fit better. File a claim with incase on their site and they will replace it. The clear seems to be having consistency issues
I wasn't trying to call you a liar but I guess I was sort of taking a shot in the dark as to what could possibly be causing your phone to continue to have attenuation issues in spite of plastic separating your hand from the case. It would seem to be highly unlikely is all.
I've yet to hear of any case that separates the hand from the case not curing the problem entirely. There has to be some scientific explanation for it.
Does anyone have both a "Smoke" and "Black Frost" to do a direct comparison?

The box for my case said "Black Frost" but it is defintely the same case lighter appearing case pictured in the photos early in this thread. In less direct lighting it does appear much darker and looks like the pictures later in the thread of the darker case.
