I am glad that the people I tried to encourage to order the product never got around to it because they too would have also been waiting for literally years for something that was a couple of months away.
THIS!!! I am glad about it either!!

Yes delay happens it's the way you handle them that makes a HUGE difference (they always made it look like it was just about there when in reality we all know how it is), i pulled after many delays with the same response with the same comunication from their blog (so now I have to keep up with the company and not the other way around???).

It's a real pity!
P.S. Hope you do get either a refound or your Prime /Vessyl combo one day!

Not to derail the train of irate children turning in this into a 4chan thread, but most people are dehydrated most of the time, with pretty serious effects to your daily performance and long term health, so no, you do a pretty poor job of knowing when you're thirsty, actually. ....as anyone with any experience in fitness or nutrition or health or the military is made painfully aware.

I hope the people trying to build the new thing here are able to work out the kinks in their invention.

And I hope each and every one of you grows up one day and attempts to develop a product around an idea of your own and discover how much work it actually takes, get buried in it, struggle through, only to enjoy idiotic threads like this written about you.

Critics are what makes a product grow up, I am sure Mark One can stand the critics and know what to do with them without a "lawyer" advocating for them

That said people are entitled to their opinion, and there's nothing bad with negative comment as long as they are respecful, one thing is though to have setbacks and work hard to fix them wich is normal in any business, but the way they managed the situation is not good......and if you did not preorder and followed the history, you are just giving an uneducated opinion.

People who believed and spent their money to support the campaign deserved better, because it is with their money that Mark One was able to see "much work it actually takes, get buried in it, struggle through", without "investor" they would be still airing the "commercial"trying to invite people to join..

They had a great idea (they might still have..) they did a good marketing campaign but they failed to deliver (so far) promised an extra to who would stick with them wich is good but failed to deliver for many!!! and yet they advertize it as .....few more months and we are in.... while in reality they said that years ago..

Idiotic is someone who cannot accept critics .....and at least there i cannot say anything against Mark One, they never fought back (because they know they are in defect) they know their investor deserve better, they just don't know yet how to make it happen....

It really is a pitty, it is/was a great concept. It's also a pitty because there's so many great tech ideas out there that are genuinely so close to market and just needs either that last bit of funding or a customer base that believes in the company and product but it is circumstances like this that make people hesitant about jumping in.

I hope I get a decent response to the last email otherwise I will have to request a refund which is not ideal. Mainly because I stupidly brought not one but two of the original Vessyls, one for myself and for my then girlfriend who is now 4 months off becoming my wife. Who knows we may get all of them for our 5yr wedding anniversary :p

Thanks for this review. My wife carries a Contigo Travel Mug everywhere in the house and at work. She drinks regular water throughout the day and then loves to drink hot water at night. I was therefore thinking this might be a fun and useful gift for her. After reading this review, I will wait to see how the product evolves. I think this has promise, but from the review they are not there yet.

Yes, they can easily keep track of when they need more water. The systems for determining that are built into your body for free.

When your urine is colorless or light yellow, you are drinking enough water. When you rarely feel thirsty, you are drinking enough water.

We've survived for billions of years on this system.

If you need to remember to actually drink 8 regular glasses of water a day and can't do what I did (divide 8 by the number of meals a day and drinking 2-3 glasses at each meal), then feel free to google "glasses water day app" to have a simple glass-counter. There are free ones such as this one:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/daily-water-free-water-reminder/id466387763?mt=8

No need to complicate your life about something as simple as drinking water or breathing air.
Asuming this was true, You would need to drink 8 glasses of water in total includding the water from the food you eat. Like the water in an apple or meet, almost everything contains water. Also who ever came with the 8 glass number was probably wrong. It will vary by body, activity, etc. I like better urine color explained in a post above. Also the human body is equipped with an app called brain.

Most importantly, congrats on the engagement! In regards to your email, you should be receiving a response within 24 hours. If that hasn't happened, please let me know.

Customers who pre-ordered the original Vessyl have been given a free Pryme Vessyl.
Ha! No they haven't! It may be available in the shops for people that haven't been waiting for what seems like forever with their money taken, but not for those who have!

Sorry, but this is a thing that bugs me.
As someone who was an early backer of the full fledged vessyl I can say that years later we were offered this more basic version as a "sorry for the delay" however I've now waited over 4 months since being told I'd get this "sorry it's taking so long" cup and every email sent comes back with a "just a few more weeks" kind of message.
The company is a joke. But then, so am I for ordering something so silly in the first place.

This is the problem!!!! They should just be straight and say ...look we messed up we are working hard it'll take 2 years but we are getting there instead of.... just few more weeks at the time.

I cancelled my support for that, I had enought of few weeks between announcement of few weeks delays.
Honesty pays!!

So I sort of get the comparison to all the activity trackers out there, even if tracking steps/distance/calories burned is much harder to keep track of than glasses of water drank. However, activity frackers (namely Fitbit) have surged in popularity simply because of how easy it is to use.

You simply put it on your wrist, and you're good to go. It can track your whole day, even entire weeks, without needing to remove it or charge it. You forget it's even there.

This on the other hand, is the complete opposite. Sure, you get more accurate estimates as to how much you're drinking, and you can get that data sent directly to your phone. But that's basically where the perks of this cup end. If you want those 2 features, you have to sacrifice nearly everything that a regular cup could do.

Again, you have to remember to pour every single drink into this cup, you have to hand wash it at least every day since it's not dishwasher safe, you can't microwave it so you need a second cup for that purpose, you can't freeze it, you can only refrigerate it for short periods of time, it can't safely be stored in a backpack, and you need to charge it daily or at best, every other day. Those are a LOT of downsides that a normal, cheap cup doesn't have, and it's all to get glass-drinking-data sent wirelessly to your phone.

So even if tracking your glasses of water was as popular as fitness tracking, I can't see such a cumbersome device taking off, especially not at that steep price point. A cool concept, but technology is supposed to make our lives easier, and this is nothing more than a clunky beta test, judging by the reviews.

Thank you very much for the congrats :).

I ended up receiving a reply with all the information required to make the final decision, it was much appreciated. I hope all goes well for the original Vessyl.

That is a different cup, called the Vessyl. That cup isn't out yet -- this is a different version that just measures water intake. From what I understand, there are some delays with the Vessyl's production ramp up.

Customers who pre-ordered the original Vessyl have been given a free Pryme Vessyl.

Here's the original Vessyl article for those interested: https://www.macrumors.com/2014/06/12/vessyl-smart-cup/
Nope they haven't. I haven't received anything yet and when I requested a refund they've just started ignoring me. The company is a scam and fraudulent!

Mark One's Pryme Vessyl is an iPhone-connected cup that's designed to track your daily liquid intake, making sure you're at your optimal hydration level. According to Mark One, hitting an ideal hydration level can increase your energy level and improve your mental balance.

Paired with an accompanying app, Pryme Vessyl calculates a user's hydration needs based on height, weight, activity level, and other factors, making sure that intake level is met by measuring each sip of water or liquid through accelerometers in the cup itself. Hydration needs change from day to day, so the goal of the Pryme Vessyl is to make sure users are getting enough hydration as activity level shifts.

The idea is to drink all of your liquids -- coffee, tea, water, juice -- out of the Pryme Vessyl to get an overall picture of liquid intake and track any deficits.

Sorry to hear that. Scanning the internet shows lots of people have been scammed and the company just ignores everyone wanting refunds. One big scam the company is running. The existing cups are subpar and the only ones that report positive experiences are the ones getting it for free to advertise on social media sites.

I am not surprised :) Well I am going to go after their customer service and get my refund when I signed up for original project!!

Good luck. I've tried for so many month. Always in a friendly professional manner and even though they told me that they'll refund me, I never got it. After trying to contact them again they started ignoring my ticket/request.

Ordered it when it was available, thought it was a good idea.

Received emails saying the 'Pryme Vessyl' (the water only one) is being posted out - yeah, sure it!
Last time I back anything online ever again that isn't a band's record.
