its was the best one imho

The next logical step--an iOS nano—would be pretty neat! I surely don’t need one, but it would be a pretty neat mini game system. Yes, another screen size and it would have fewer apps due to the smaller user base—but some developers would be happy to give it a shot!

Seriously, what's up with the circular icons and circle on the home button for the Nano? This is such a stray from branding for Apple that it's shocking.

I think it’s planned that way for a reason: it says that this is NOT an iOS device and does NOT have the App Store.

I predict if the nano does go iOS in future, the icons will become squared.

(I would guess even Apple doesn’t yet know if that will happen—but they’re thinking about it.)

I think the new iPod Touch looks great, the only problem is the starting price, I would've personally be much happier If it has a 8GB capacity but started at $199..

Can't justify spending $299 on the new iPod Touch, not sure who would buy the 4G iPod Touch when It's using an A4 chip =/

It isn't really. You have to remember that the iPhone is subsidized, so when you compare the $300 price tag to the iPhone's real price, which is $700, it's not a bad price for what it is.

Yes but it only cost Apple under$200 to make the 16gb iPhone 5. Don't get it twisted.

I expected the iPod Nano to remain small and get wifi/Bluetooth/microphone/loudspeaker so I can use it as a remote for the TV and take calls when my iPhone is not within reach. Imagine lying in the hammock or sofa, wearing the Nano like a wristband watch and answering the phone with it or see incoming text messages/email titles/reminders/etc. THAT would be the next "must have" to me. :)

This was my last nano and I don't have any reason to upgrade it. I only use it for my walks/run. It would be nice if it took pictures along with video but I tend to use my phone for that.

I have the small square nano from 2010-2011. It is a great little player, and I like the clip. I use it at work a lot because playing from it doesn't drain my iPhone, and it is nice for Radio on the rare occasion I want that outside my car.

However, this nano looks like it takes care of the one major problem with my model. The screen is a bit too small. (as well as the nice addition of Bluetooth). On mine, the screen is ok for a lot of things, but for scrolling songs, artists, playlists. You just don't get much info there vertically. Oh and it doubles as a watch, but unlike the soon to be released pebble watch, it doesn't interact with your iPhone. And it is a bit too large for the wrist.

I would get a new nano if I could sell mine for enough to make the difference palatable.

IF Apple's working on an iPad Mini, the pricing of the iPod Touch makes it hard to price. iPod Touch is $300, iPad is $500. That leaves the iPad Mini somewhere around $400. It might be worth it, but it'll be hard to compete against the Kindle Fire, which, while imperfect, is a pretty good device at the $200 price.

The 4th gen iPod nano remains the best design by far. 5th/6th was worse, and this is worse still.

How was the 5th gen nano worse than the 4th. I think the 5th gen was the best small music player thus far.

To make the iPod really useful, Apple should increase the storage from 16GB to 64GB. ;) Storage is cheaper and Apple is still a miser.

Someone please tell me where i can buy that generation iPod Nano, i've been looking for one for ages.

Since we talked about the pricing, this proves that the iPad mini doesn't exist. What would be the price if does exist!?

i was expecting much better for the new Nano

i'll pass on it

also just bought the iPhone 5, so i doesn't make sense to buy the Touch

i was looking for an iPod in order to listen to music on it instead of on my iPhone to save its battery, but definitely, there will be not iPod for me this year

or maybe the old iPod Touch

Me either, I have to wait for a 5s due to my contract, and I was considering the touch to fill the gap, but my 4s does almost everything just as good or better, with the exception being the higher rez screen , but the screen on the 4s is no slouch and with a 64gb 4s, there is no reason to spend another $400.

I also suggest naming Apple "iPad, Inc."

BTW, I will buy an iPod Touch when it gets cellular data, something that will never happen, I'm sad to guess.

Have you heard of Freedom pop? they are a free 4G Wimax (500 MB) or cheap ($18 for 2 GB) and they have a 4G sleeve for the previous generation, only a matter of time before they create a sleeve for the current generation.

If I didn't have an iPhone, I would seriously consider them.

But it doesnt make calls?!

It's incapable of making cellular calls, sure. But so is the iPhone if you're only spending $549.

If you're only comparing to other iPods, it certainly does not have last year's specs.

The iPod touch is priced way to high, $299 for a device with last years specs? I don't think so

The vast majority of consumers don't care about specs, so that does not affect their buying decision. A display that looks good, plus a huge selection of tunes, movies, games and apps in the iTunes store, that they might care about.
