To be very honest, as much as we'd like to support RIM. It's clear that the company is going downhill.

What do they have in their pipeline until BlackBerry 10 comes out in 2013?

However, there are many current BlackBerry users. Therefore, they still have a market..for now.
BlackBerry is huge because it's very cheap, same with Nokia. BlackBerry and Nokia are doing extremely well in the pre-paid market

BlackBerry is also very popular in the business world. I'm sure companies would love to switch to another device given the chance, but look at it this way..Android is unstable, Windows Phone 7 isn't an option, and the iPhone is too expensive.

If Apple wants market share, and if it wants RIM's market. It needs to release a more cheaper iPhone, i'm not talking about a last-gen model, i'm talking about one specifically made for the pre-paid market.

RIM and Nokia are on the same boat, however Nokia is better off after the strategic alliance with Microsoft. Which i believe is the smartest move they've made yet!
Will they be around in the next 5 years? I don't think so.

RIM isn't dead just yet. Most people with a smartphone uses a BlackBerry around here. I don't know why so many of my friends have BlackBerrys. BBM? There's an app for that. Physical keyboard? On-screen keyboard is faster if you get used to it. Those are like the only two main advantages BlackBerrys have, but it's still pretty pointless.

I work in Singapore and a few times I travel to Jakarta, Indonesia. And oh boy, literally almost anyone have a BlackBerry there! White collar people, students, middle aged people, kids .. well ... just everyone LOL

It's true, Indonesia is one of BB nation on earth! 8 of 10 pedestrian I saw playing around with BB. I also heard that recently there was a world debute release of BlackBerry Onyx 3 in Jakarta. So special, huh? :D

So much different than here in Singapore, where BB is an antiquated item, iPhone is really common and many also use Android instead

So yes, I don't think BB is going to fall soon. RIM still has great fan base in some countries ilke Indonesia. Don't understand why too now Android is available on any price range, with better specs and functionality.

There's no arguing that RIM has a well established user base. So did Palm though. They had the majority market share in he 90s and they made the same argument when their OS began to age. They delayed and delayed on development, and kept everyone in the dark. They scoffed at the iPhone, and now look at where they are.
