Its a shame really that this is happening. It just shows that we are only a few steps away from chaos and social breakdown.

I was brought up in Tottenham and my parents still live there, about ten minutes walk from the carpet place that got burnt down.
This no longer appears to have anything to do with the man that was shot by police and is just a bunch of criminals doing criminal acts.
My friend, people who hurt others just so they can pilage and steal what they can out of context of the real riot do not deserve any pity (nor do the the ones who do it because of the real thing).
And before you ask, I am white an have friends from every race. I simply think if a person uses the confusion to cause chaos and steal should be punished, tries to fight back? Put him out of his misery...

This sounds a little too hard, don't you think? Violence and crime in the streets is horrible, but so is your "solution". And while the methods of these people are terrible, their frustration of a rising police state mentality in the EU, a terribly inflating euro, no jobs and politicians of all colour selling their voters to the banking cartels is understandable. The only solution thoug, can of course be peaceful protest.

It seems that Prime Minister Dave is cutting short his holiday in Tuscany – and with it his vitally important work in making sure local waitresses are properly tipped – to return to London. I bet he's jolly annoyed about it, as well.

Why are you under the impression i am in any way sympathetic towards the rioters, i'm not, they are criminals pure and simple.
I spent 21 years living in Tottenham i still have family there now relatively close to the riot on Saturday, i feel shocked seeing it in flames and those responsible should be held accountable.

My sympathies to the innocent Londoners caught up in this horrible situation.

The way I'm hearing it the police arrived with dogs and tried to antagonise the crowd,they didn't rise to it,good for them.
Shops are being looted in Clapham Junction rather than C'larm although it's starting to look a bit hairy there also.
Isn't it just because there's nothing worth looting up there? And many Northern cities already resemble a post-apocalyptic wasteland?

Here, our Stock Market's tanking - so that's what's news...
I did see dogs, none used.
The fear that these people are causing this violence, burning, and looting, is mindless.
Police cars hurtling their way down to Hammersmith as I write.
I am just waiting for them to declare martial law because at this point that may be the only thing to restore order.
