Have you ever had the same window open for more than 30 minutes/one hour open ? Cause mine passed the checkboard test (20 minutes) and the migration assistant window stayed on my screen after one hour ... I really hope your screen are Indeed flawless but so far i haven't seen one ... Your use just have not cause IR so far but somewhere down the road it will most likely happen ... That's why some people thinks they don't have IR ... They just haven't done anything to cause it :/

Don't get mad just because your screen has IR. That's exactly what's going on here.

No it´s not. I already had a previous generation 13" rmbp and after 4 months it got IR so I got rid of it in the hope that the haswell ones would be ok but obviously they aren't. And if you take a look at Apple forums you'll see that most of the last posts are 13" inch user complaining about IR. I know it looks like I'm trying to ruin the fun but I'm not. I'm just trying to inform you now sure you don't have to beleive me but think back to my post when your screen will start ghosting ... I hope you took Apple Care especially if you live in the US. Anyway it will be my last post about it. Now I have to get my 2000€ back.

Picked up my new rMBP 13" 2.4 i5/16GB RAM/256GB SSD from the Apple store yesterday! Ordered on Nov 16th with an original estimate delivery of December 23rd.

I have no idea how Apple is processing orders. I ordered the exact same configuration on Nov 12th and just received an email postponing my delivery day until Dec 19-23. I don't understand.

When I called a coupled days ago to inquire the only thing they could say is "it is a customized order" and "it is coming from overseas." Then they gave me a 15% coupon for a purchase of $100-300. Thanks a lot.

I'm tempted to cancel my order and buy the same configuration from B&H. I could have it in my hands by Monday for the same price (plus a free copy of Parallels)!

I got an 8/256 in just under 24 hours, from the Australian online store, they must have had a big supply in Sydney, it was in my rural town first thing the next morning. Screen seems perfect, I don't know which screen it is.

I haven't done the checkerboard test. I went into the screensaver file in Library and exported some of those lovely images that are only in screensavers so I could use them for desktop ... I've set 6 of them to change every 5 minutes, a little experiment, watching closely, can't see any IR. does it only happen when you leave the same image up for a long time?

Woot! It arrived.

Ordered 11/23
Original delivery estimate 12/6-12/13
Arrived 12/12

Of course, it's my Christmas present so I've got to turn it over to the wife until 12/25. But hey, it's here.

Is it possible to change the delivery address to a local apple store in the UK? Cause I didn't see that option when ordering....

No, it is not. The date is based on product availability. You can check with the Apple Store if there is one in stock.

I'm sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough, what I want to know is if it is possible to ask apple to send the macbook pro to the local apple store instead of my home.

Are you in the US? My last 2 orders with Apple.com were shipped to local Apple Store.

after 30 days the "available to ship" changed from "3/4 weeks" to "1/3 days",
but delivery date was pushed about 10 days further.
I got in touch with apple to see if they can change the shipping from standard to quick.

excercise in patience, level 3 mastered.

I think I failed patience 101. The same thing happened to me this morning (after waiting a month, my delivery date was pushed out an extra 10 days) and I canceled my order. I just placed an order at B&H and will receive my laptop on Monday.

Well, I ordered Black Friday(11/29) and my order status says available to ship in 1-2 weeks. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks, I guess that's not happening at this point. :(

I'm in the same boat as you...ordered 11/29. Status says "ships in 1-2 weeks" I think...and the Delivered On dates have 12/13 through 12/20....but I'm not getting a good feeling that it'll be here before Christmas...but you never know I guess.

Same here, and probably wont have it as I leave for the holidays... :(

I have an apple business partner account which granted me a nice discount (we buy a lot of apple stuff for our studio), so I ordered as usual via the program.
had no idea what I was getting myself in, but I won't cancel my order.
besides, I have no idea if the beefed up configuration is available in the netherlands via a reseller.

I am known to be a very patient person.
it will sure suck if I don't get it before the holidays, as I need to install a plethora of apps and development tool-chains and won't have time after the first week of january as I'll be traveling for work.

I hope I get it before end of the year at least.
tomorrow I'll sure get a reply from my business contact at Apple.
she's very nice :)
I'll keep updating the thread.

I'm thankful I bumbped into this post.
I found comfort in knowing I wasn't the only one.

u.

lol patience. Ordered a 2.6/16/512 on November 13 and just received it yesterday! I got kinda impatient a few weeks ago though, and ended up buying a 15" 2.3/16/512 with the intention of returning it when I got the 13", but after using the larger computer for a while it's been difficult to transition back to the 13. It's hard to justify an extra $600 when I probably wont be fully utilizing the graphics and core upgrades, but...

Anyone want to buy a bnib 2.6/16/512 shipped tomorrow?

There's hope! "Preparing for Shipment" status now!

PREPARING FOR SHIPMENT!!!! Good luck to everyone else, hope you get your computers soon!

No luck for me on Friday the 13th. Ordered a 2.6/16/512 on 11/29 which originally indicated shipping in 1 to 2 weeks. Today that changed to 4 to 6 business days (meaning possibly not until 12/23), with delivery 12/26 to 12/30!

I called Apple and was told they were waiting on memory. They also said I could not upgrade the shipping to arrive before xmas.

I get the feeling that being a customer for nearly 30 years is not worth much.

Finally!

13" rMBP 2.6/16/512 ordered 11/29...

Just received shipment notification; scheduled to arrive 12/18.

Looks like I'll have plenty to occupy my time with during vacation!

I went from a 13 regular MBP to a 15" rMBP since wanted the retina screen, then later to a 2012 13" rMBP and finally a 13" max out Haswell rMBP. To me going back to the 13 screen was easier than I though, weighing a lot the decision on portability; guess I'm a 13" guy !!!
