lmfao this thread needs to be locked, this is just full of a bunch of 12 year olds yelling over grammar and spelling now.

Wow, I just look around trying to find some impressions to see how or even if the rMBP's performance has been improved with ML and I find... this. It's not even good trolling.

I agreed about resale value and Macs, But unless they fix the issue that rMBP are having right now the resale value will plummet real fast. Specially when a better, newer, flawless rMBP comes out. Then if you say rMBP is flawless right now and there is no issue...why are we having these kind of thread. :apple:

I didn't say it is flawless. I said the issues are overblown. The computer was slow with Lion - unacceptably so IMO. With the upgrade to ML, by and large the vast majority of framerate issues are gone. The little bit of stuttering that remains seems to be due to the iGPU. If I force the machine to use the discrete GPU, it works great. Even without it, there is very little that actually causes lag.

Why are there threads like this? Because people (such as yourself) blow the issues out of proportion without even spending time with the computer themselves.

And the vast majority of people don't give a crap about minor stutters here and there. They just care that the device looks "sexy". If the stutters bothered them that much, no one would buy an iPhone 4 anymore, and no one would have bought 2nd had iPhone 3G's back in the day. But instead, both devices kept a significant portion of their original values.

Rather than accept there's a problem, and thinks that the issue is blow out of proportion. Being in denial state, next thing you know that you are 3 years too late...when your Apple care expired. When Apple sell you a $3,000 computer, the expectation is higher than usual. But what you get is a half bake product. What is the point of having a iGPU when it can't handle the retina. So does it mean that we are not gonna see any Retina 13 inch macbook pro. Because they only have iGPU. So Apple need to know your feedback rather than convincing yourself everything is ok.

Iphone 4 and 3gs come on man you are comparing Apple with Oranges. Those are like $199 to $299 with contract. Not like you are putting a dent on your bank account. But for $3000 dollars computer for what is worth Apple should give me a lap dance.

I'm not in a state of denial - but I am savvy enough to know what I'm getting myself into. Why did I spend $3000? Because of the screen. I wanted the highest res display I can get in a laptop, and I wanted the best color reproduction and contrast currently available. I knew before purchasing that 2880x1800 is a very high resolution, and that current desktop hardware will have trouble driving it, let alone a mobile iGPU. I fully expected a few stutters here and there, and was pleasantly surprised at how fluid it actually is. I don't really care about a few inconsequential animations. The animation lag doesn't actually slow any real work down - I can still edit graphics, render movies, do spreadsheets, etc... all with the same or better efficiency as previous MBPs. I really couldn't care less if a couple animations skipped frames here and there - because they don't actually effect the quality of my work. Hence the issues being overblown. The computer is still a powerhouse, and can allow for increased productivity. The framerate issues are not everywhere - it's fairly specific tasks that trigger the noticeable slowdowns.

As far as resale goes - I guarantee the rMBP will hold onto value better than the cMBP. The current cMBP is not a huge upgrade over the previous gen (in the eyes of most buyers) - so they'll opt for the cheaper previous gen models. This will force prices to come down. For the rMBP - there's only one model period. The price can only go down so far. People will buy it. Just look at the sales today - the "stutter" issues are well known and yet Apple can barely keep up with the demand.

Hell, the price itself is not a huge consideration. I would wager that the majority of buyers bought the laptop on credit. That has a similar insulating effect as buying a phone on contract.
