Ok guys, an update. I have just returned form apple store with new screen fitted and it is Samsungs (LSN)

Looks like they are replacing faulty LGs with Samsung screens.

Well that's not really new news. How's the white balance on the replacement screen? Are the whites white? Or are they yellowish/brown? (Or as I like to call them antique white)

just calibrated this screen with i1Display2 and as far as I can see, no problems with yellowish tint etc.

UPDATE: after running laptop my macbook for several hours I can tell blueish tint in the right bottom corner, it's like pretty much right side of screen is little bit bluish.

Will use laptop for the next month or so and next year will take it back to apple. I'm not paranoid, this is visible with naked eye. Not good for £2300 laptop.

Is it uniform or only one side? Are you going to return it or keep it?

I'm definitely keeping it...colors seem more warm compared to the LG and not that obviously yellow so this is a keeper.
