Hey guys so I pre ordered both JB and black iphone 7+. Just watched a video preview for these 2 colors and now I think I'll very likely go with the matte black. I just can't live with a scratched phone. No matter how you protect it, I'll get scratches by debris, etc. Having said that I plan to buy a very slim case with a camera ridge due to my concern for the camera when lay down. For the screen I want it naked. The feel is just amazing. Yes you can buy glass screen protector but it feels annoying when you swipe pass the lip. Plus I plan to upgrade again next year so it's kinda dumb to cover the phone and then later sell it pristine to someone else leaving you never fully experience the phone

I've had every other iPhone since the 3G, and I've never used a screen protector. I've only scratched one screen, because I stupidly put my keys in the same pocket my phone was in.

I only use a very thin case because of grip. The naked iPhone, especially from the 6 on, is pretty slippery.

Going to try rocking the Jet Black 7+ naked. I know it'll probably get some superficial scratches, but I'm very careful with my devices - never carry in a pocket with keys, etc. I am also planning on getting AppleCare+, so if in 6 months it looks ugly, I can pay the fee to swap it for cosmetic reasons. Finally, I'm on AT&T Next Every 12, so I'm only going to have this phone for a year...

For all of these reasons, I'm going to take a chance and rock this phone caseless... Anyone planning to do the same?

Funny, I always used to have my phone naked till a couple years ago. My thinking was always why get the nicest looking phone then cover it? I can't remember when it changed, I believe it's when I started upgrading every year so wanted to keep my phone fresh for resale. But now I think I'm going naked again for a few reasons:

1. Cracked Screen only $29 deductible now - by far the most common issue for me in the past, now cheap to replace
2. Water resistant - second most common issue I've had with phones over the years practically solved
3. Resale - signed up for iPhone upgrade program, no longer have to worry about phone looking like new when done

For those reasons I think I'm going naked again this year. Freedom!

Not impossible. In fact, after one year my naked iPhone is usually in a better condition than many iPhones I see on eBay whose scratches sellers blame on the case. A case can sometimes cause more harm than good.
He said ZERO scratches, how that is possible there will be some scratches even if you are very protective unless you just don't use it or keep it in the box

Zero obvious scratches or zero micro scratches that you can only see under certain light/angles? The former is possible if you're careful enough rocking your iPhone naked, but the latter is possible naked or cased (because stuff can get in the case and induce microscratches that way).

naked.

an iPhone in a case (most of them are more ugly then the highest form of ugliness) totally kills my user experience.
I am also buying an iPhone due to his beautiful design.

bought AC+ with my new 7.

Where i said a case fully protects the phone,Cases are used to protect the phone from damaging, dings.dents, shattering when you drop your phone, scratches will get in any circumstances weather you or naked or in a case because the aluminium or glass are pron to scratches when it touches other hard surfaces like table or wherever you keep your phone and if you say zero scratches that's impossible

I'm going to slap the silicone case on while at the gym for protection, but use it naked the rest of the time.

Yeah I actually cracked my sceeen, but the phone is still naked, just looks too nice to keep hidden.

No cases.

I hate cases.

Guess what, many of us who rock our iPhones naked manage to go for a full year without dropping our iPhones. We also don't slide it around on the table like some people do.

I know it's difficult for case users to believe, but it's possible.

Last year I tried going without a case because I had never once dropped a phone before. Dropped it and cracked the screen twice within the first 2 months. Ate up all my AC+ replacements. As much as I really, really want to go naked...I am probably going to be slapping a case on it.

I never use a case. I'm considering the Jet Black 7 Plus, and if I get it'll also not have a case. I know that it'll show scratches, but I don't really care. I think it'll look cool. I'm just not sure if I want the Jet Black because I 32 GB would be fine for me and I don't want to pay the extra $100 just for the finish.

Your absolutely correct. I actually never set my iPhone down on a hard surface, unless it's on something soft. It's almost as if I do this without thinking about it. Believe it or not, my last two iPhones have had zero scratches on my last two devices I sold, and it really helped with the sale as well. But then again, I treat all my electronics and property with care.
