Its strange, I was just thinking about this yesterday!

I was thinking, most cult things are ruined these days, because they want to continue the success.

Like what? What cult things have been ruined in recent years?

I saw the Rocky Horror film on tv, once. It was okay but weird. Not my cup of tea. I like Tim Curry, though, and can't imagine the movie without him. I don't get the whole audience participation thing. Was that common in the old days with musicals? If not, why did the Rocky Horror film have it?

Which modern actors do you guys suppose would fit best with the roles for this remake?

some remakes are pretty good, but has hollywood really completely run out of ideas for movies that aren't horrible? we have new stuff, like that love guru movie that was horrid, and then remakes, of movies people love, which can't possibly live up to the original.

A lot of old horror films for one thing. Texas Chainsaw Massacre has been redone so many times it's scary. Prom Night is another. I'll get back to you with more later.

Multiple meanings here, aren't there?

Did you mean one or all of them was/were scary, watching each one made one or all of them scary, the fact that it was remade so many times made one or all of them scary, or the fact that multiple people thought it would be a rather neat idea to remake the original or subsequent remakes was scary?

With regards to the RHPS, the movie itself tanked in a week (more or less). The story goes that some while afterwards, some theater guys found the films in storage and thought it would be great fun to play them again and make fun of them. They invited there friends or some such, and it snowballed into a grand event, and then it caught on at other theaters.

That's what I remember hearing, anyway. My earlier link probably has some info related to this.
