I'm pretty sure you were lied to. This happens every year, and every year dates get moved up significantly. I spoke to an Apple rep the other day who said we are more than likely going to see our phones sooner than the dates given.Well October-ers. Just spoke with Apple and was told it's maybe a 1% chance we move up. With JBs being sold out and not enough people manufacturing them October is the best date we can have right now. They were told not to upgrade any delivery dates (expedite orders) because that will end up pushing the date further out. So. We're in for a wait folks. Sucks smh.
I'm hoping she did lie because October is just crazy far IMO. People with end of September delivery dates are preparing to ship now so I'm just like why would we have to still wait for October? Whole thing is just crazy crazy crazy.
The only thing i can come up with is that the Jet black take more time to make opposed with other finishes. Plus there is a great demand for it. Lucky I ordered a Matte Black 7+, and hope those dates push up. I think the Jet Black looks amazing, but i have a friend who was there at the launch event, and said the jet black models were already scratched, and are finger print magnets.
Yeah. Every representative says different information. Most of them however will tell you that the expected delivery date is the worst case scenario. The fact that they are already shipping those on the block before us is a pretty good sign. As long as you are among the "first" October orders (purchased soon after the preorders started) I don't think we will wait so long.
Got my email confirmation at xx:23 after launch. So. Hopefully mines begin to move A LOT sooner than October like geez

But the funny thing is I've seen SEVERAL JB phones moving on the other thread. 7+ at that. Seems like information is conflicting terribly right now.
This is honestly what the rep told me. She said "it's the newest color and the demand is high for it because it's new" and I was thinking look lady I don't want to hear that! I want my phone! Lol
I can tell you that my time stamp for confirmation email is 12:06am PST and I still got the 10/4-10/10 delivery window. I have seen zero movement on my order.
I am at 00:26. I have to say, I think it's ridiculous that you ordered in the first six minutes and aren't getting it on launch day. Really poor planning by Apple. With their experience and Cook's reputation in supply chain, this is nothing short of an embarrassment.
