I think you would be right... most of us with original 23rd delivery didn't get the mechanical breakdown thing... mines just sitting there...
What Apple delivery date do the people who got the notice of mechanical failure?

I still have an Apple date of tomorrow the 23rd. UPS hasn't updated for over 36 hours. Calling UPS automated says delivery date is Thursday the 22nd almost like it doesn't know that's today. Hoping again all our phones are here in the states and will be delivered on the original dates given by Apple in our shipping email.

I am also in the 8:01 Korea group with the last UPS activity as being the arrival scan.

But I have a better story than anyone... Yesterday I got home from work and there was a little brown box sitting on my porch. I snatched it up and was opening it as I walked in the door. There it was, Black iPhone 7+. A few days earlier than I expected, so I was excited. Until I saw the sticker that had someone else's name and number on it. AH, it was a mistake I'm sure. It's my phone. I then quickly looked at the label on the box and saw it had the name of the previous owner of my house on it - a house I bought 4 years ago. Apparently he never changed his billing address on his AT&T account (thanks paperless billing) and the phone shipped to me from AT&T, not him.

The little voice in my head said "Go ahead, just open it. It's the same one you ordered, what are the odds? It was delivered to YOU". All this while my phone was still stuck, as of 8:01, in Korea. But I called the guy and told him I had his phone. And still I wait.

I do have to admit though, all of these angry posts and complaints are the definition of a "First world problem". I don't understand all of the anger directed towards UPS and Apple here. If anything, I'd be immensely aggravated if I was taking calls at UPS from people asking why their phone was still stuck in Korea. Maybe it's just me, but I see the ability to track UPS flight 99 as a peek behind the scenes into the logistics of how a phone on the other side of the planet can get to me in just a few days. For UPS it's something they do on a daily basis, with millions of packages.

To everyone getting upset at this "major fail" by Apple and UPS, I say: Why are you getting upset at something you don't understand? Being able to track a phone from the manufacturing plant, through airports and to your front door does not make anyone an expert in shipping logistics. If your phone doesn't arrive during the delivery window you have from Apple, which in my Case is 9/23 - 9/26, then call and see what's up.

But to call now, and be angry because you believe your phone won't arrive on time based on pure speculation? Relax. The phones will arrive in the delivery window.

They always do. Even when one lands on your doorstep that isn't actually yours.

Derek: Any reason why it is still in china?

Andrea A.: There are several operating plans on Apples end that we still have to arrange with the US imports.

Andrea back with the bull hahaha..!!!

My Oct 4-10 ship date never changed, and I was still processing. Thanks to iStocknow.com I was able to reserve my AT&T 7 Plus 128Gb Black at my local Apple Store for pickup today at 5pm. That site was super accurate, I was refreshing every 5-10 minutes, and as soon as it showed stock for that phone at nearest Apple Store, I got on the apple store on my phone, and sure enough, it was available for pickup. I had been checking the phone apple store every 20 minutes or so to be sure also. I was worried I'd miss it because I had to cancel my preorder, it did take about 10 minutes or so for AT&T to let go of the fact that I had a pending order and that "only one phone can be bought blah blah"

That Verizon tho! I'm att thinking of switching next year how is that!'

Anywho... we have same info everywhere you picking up at hub right

LOL! that's on my work phone (verizon), my personal phone is AT&T.. :)

Wasn't planning on picking up..

Look at the bright side. Many of us hate Mondays now we have something to look forward too Monday. Or maybe tue or wed. Who knows what's going on.

I call BS given they are in UPS's hands as soon as they leave the factory. UPS surely isn't slapping labels on pallets of phones in Louisville.

Thousands of phones likely on each pallet/skid. UPS knows which skids are headed out and where they are along the delivery process, Apple knows which phones are on each skid. Who cares if the UPS site isn't updating - as long as the deliveries are made within the window promised, why should we care?

This is a case where everyone would be better off not having access to the behind the scenes logistics and just waiting until the delivery window.

How do you know that the phone are not on the flight headed to ANC right now? I suspect that they probably are.
Which flight? US99 basically disappeared off the map this morning, if that's what you're referring to. It's like it never made the flight. OF course it actually could have, but I personally haven't been able to find any confirmation

Picked mine up at the stor, both, checked the istocknow site long enough and surprisingly my local stores had both that i had ordered. Canceled the pre-ordered nightmare. :D

If you have a store near by, you may be better off looking around and trying to snatch one.

It's funny because if you look at our shipments it's shipped with UPS's World Ease and it states the following for the service:

"Simplify customs clearance by grouping several shipments destined for one country or the entire European Union into a single shipment. This contractual service is available throughout North America and in select countries in Europe, Central and South America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Each UPS World Ease shipment:

  • Clears customs as a single unit, reducing documentation and saving time
  • Provides guaranteed time-in-transit times
  • Offers detailed tracking visibility for every package in the shipment"
This might be the reason not everyone sees updates, and then randomly gets them all at once, and yet at the same time it makes no sense since it says it offers detailed tracking for every package.

That's interesting because I've been tracking it throughout the day... it's currently listed as on time and set to arrive at 12:41pm

Finally just got the Incheon Mechanical failure alert with 9/23/16 4:24 AM

Anyone else get this one?

No, I'm stuck in the "Pkg shipped; delivery being scheduled" group without any news about it. Still not sure if that message is a good thing or a bad thing.

Apple had me scheduled for 9/26 delivery, so I'm going to guess I'm net getting mine tomorrow, but I hope everyone that had a 9/23 delivery date does at least.
