Great question. I ordered at xx:12. Originally quoted at 10/4-10/10.

Phone shipped 9/19 and was given 2-3 days delivery from Apple. UPS said 9/21 at first, then it went to 9/22, then on wednesday morning there was no date available anymore from UPS. Apple is still quoting 9/23, but at this point has to be ********. About 8 hours ago I was one of the many that received the weather delay notification, rather than the mechanical failure notification from this morning.
I'd say if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, you'd be able to ask Apple about some form of compensation (phone case, etc...). I mean they've been giving those to people who reserve for in-store pickup if they have to wait 15 minutes past their appointment time. I think you'd be within your rights to inquire.

Their system is just broken. I swear there is some person sitting behind a computer just picking random places to scan the packages from now. Either there is some super sonic flight out of Hong Kong or the pallets of phones are actually sitting in Louisville. I thought about emailing Mr Cook earlier today but figured he is probably well aware of the problems. After this comedic entry I may go ahead and do that tomorrow. If it doesn't look like its coming by midday tomorrow I will be on the phone with them. Its about time they start cancelling these and reserving stock at stores for people.

You know what it seems like the last time I talk to them they mentioned something about putting them on a commercial jet... but they said that they were in China not Korea so I have no clue.

Exact same here.

Thanks for the info. I would hope the same. Do you happen to know how one would go about that?

So I did some searching and found two flights going from HK to Anchorage, however they don't take off for at least 5-7 hours. There is this flight https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UPS63 and then there is UPS Flight 5X 059, you can google it because it doesn't seem to be on any flight tracking site. However, it appears on this site which seems to be the official website for the HK airport. http://www.hongkongairport.com/flightinfo/eng/cargo_dep.html

Either way it looks like we are leaving at 7:45 or 9:15, unless UPS has some hidden flights going on. 9/23 delivery is definitely looking unlikely.

Nope... They finally left Korea and then they ran into some more bad weather which caused mechanical failures... so they had to make an emergency stop in Hong Kong, but because of the Chinese government policies they're going to have to take them back to China to go through customs again... but don't worry they will scan them as being in Korea... but they will really be in China because they scan ahead of time... but on Monday when they finally leave Korea for the third time they will make one final pitstop in Australia just to go through customs again and so that Apple can give them 1000 more units which will overload the plane causing delays until they find an extra plane... at that time you will be able to check your tracking on the website to see what's going on!!!!
LMAO

I'd just do a live chat with Apple Specialist.

I'm no pilot, but is South Korea to Hong Kong possible in 3 hours? I mean, that's over 2000km away.
It could be that as others have noted that our phones were never in Korea (bad scan), but in order to show them as in Hong Kong now ( to get them on a commercial flight to USA as some suggested), they had to scan them as leaving Korea. Who knows? It's a guessing game now. Lol

Everything you need to know about UPS is right here....

I take it I'm not getting my phone tomorrow, unless some scans were missed or done wrongfully.

Can someone reassure to me that I will get my phone tomorrow? That was the promised date from Apple and UPS. :(

My thoughts exactly! WTF!

When you Google flight time from incheon to hong Kong, apparently that's the time, just over 3 hours flight time.

Just FYI: Hong Kong is 1 hr behind South Korea.....so that could explain the 3+/- flight time. Technically they scanned our packages at 2:55 Korea time(1:55 HK time)

What if the supposed Hong Kong flight flies directly to Louisville. Siri says that's a 16 hour flight, but HK is 12 hours ahead of Kentucky so if it departs soon it would land in four hours from now eastern time. We'll see!

At least I think that's correct. Travel between time zones always confuses me. Lol

Laughed so hard when I saw we're in Hong Kong. This is getting more and more ridiculous

iPhones have gone through Hong Kong as part of UPS' standard routing for as long as I've been tracking them (over 4 years).

Mine isn't showing anything in China. You guys 1:05 ZZ?

Hong Kong is part of China... officially, it's the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

One more bizarre data point. I spoke to an UPS international shipping cserv supervisor 7.5 hours ago and she said that my phone was last scanned in Hong Kong but was in transit to the US. I replied that according to online tracking it wasn't in Hong Kong but was still in Korea, and she responded that the online tracking data was simply not current and did not reflect actual movements. At the time, not having any indication whatsoever of any of our shipments going to or through HK, I chalked it up to more misinformation, but with my tracking, like others here, now showing passage into HK, I'm thinking that she may actually have been right.

VertPin...I just love your avatar! Makes me laugh:)

Lol, thanks. I adored Yoshi as a kid and I came across that image once and was thinking "yes, this will be my avatar".

Spoiler alert: I'm a 22 year old man and have adult jobs to do but I can't deny, Yoshi is still legit.
