This is for the upgrade program. Can you still reserve and pick up if you're not using the program?

Ahh I see that now! Thanks for pointing that out. I think though if my order wasn't PFS I would've cancelled order and signed up for it. But it's all good! I'm optimistic I'll see phone by end of week/early the following week.
 

I called my store and it transferred me to corporate. They said that you have to setup an account with iUP first and then you can immediately pay it off. I don't agree with that information, but that's what they told me.

Another point of interest is when you reserve one it says this:

I didn't notice it was for the IUP. I'm not on that program, but I'm going at 12 to find out what happens.
 
Back on topic: I received my email at 3:15 EST for my AT&T 7 Plus 128gb in Black. It's been in prepared for shipping, but no support profile or tracking yet. My original date was October 4-10th

I just reserved a phone as well for today! Also just got off the line with Apple chat. You have choices when you go into the store.

1) If you have a pre-order that is using your carrier upgrade eligibility for AT&T Next for instance, make sure you cancel that and contact AT&T to have your upgrade eligibility reset. You can then use that in store when you pick up your reservation.

2) You can use the IUP which keeps your phone unlocked and doesn't affect your upgrade eligilbity so no need to cancel first in case anything were to happen. Although the phone is about $5 more with this program you also get AppleCare included and you can upgrade for free next year

3) You can pay in full and do what you want with the phone.

Still undecided yet about what I'm going to do, but have a few hours until my reservation so I have time to decide.

It seems that the remaining people with the Sep 27 dates just got their final status update to "shipped" with deliveries for Tuesday. So I'm thinking we are next either tonight or tomorrow morning, with delivery dates for Wednesday-Thursday.
 
My order number tracked by reference now shows departed Anchorage. Is this a good thing even though Hawaii is final destination? Hopefully it is in fact related to my order.

Thank you for this! &just made a reservation and getting it at 11 when they open.

Just noticed two stores in my area have my phone available with 11 am appointment times. Would think this means since my order switched to PFS I will get it this week?
 
My order is PFS but I was able to reserve the model I wanted for pickup in an hour. Has anyone dealt with this in the past? Is it possible to cancel the order before they ship it out by contacting support or am I just going to have to return the one they ship?

(No tracking via UPS or showing under support profile)

you can call ups and tell the to send it back. if that doesn't work refuse shipment.
but youcan't cancel unless it somehow goes back to processing

kinda lame the stores have them but we dont
preorder is pretty screwy

I never would have thought there be this much stock in stores as of today, especially since Apple said a few days ago stores had no Pluses. Oh well.

Pretty ridiculous, huh? We all pre ordered on the 9th and are waiting, yet you can reserve one in the store right now.
 
I contacted AT&T via chat about possibly going in for a reserved device instead of waiting for shipping and this is what I got
" I want to tell you that in order to make an "upgrade reversal" we will need to confirm that the order was cancelled and then we can proceed reseting the eligibility for the device"

I can't cancel the order now....

I wonder how safe it is to cancel right after making an in store reservation with Apple.....
