Well I don't even want to try now, but the PFS status says you can't cancel or change anything about the order until it's officially shipped.
I am still processing. What would you do if you could get a reservation and was still able to cancel?
Apple chat told me as long as you have a confirmed reservation in store and get there on-time the phone will be yours. I even mentioned that I had heard others having issues with their reserved phones not being available and they were shocked about that so hopefully that was a rarity. I've cancelled my pre-order, had AT&T reset my eligibility and have a reservation at 3pm today to pickup my new phone.
I am still stuck on processing as well. Ordered at 3:11am est, 128gb black 7+ ATT.
How do I try and get a reservation? I don't see an option to pick up the phone in store.
No, mine was still processing. You might see if AT&T or whatever carrier you have can do it though...they offered to contact Apple by phone for me before I told them I had already cancelled it online.

Got a reservation for a 7+ 128 black but my JB should be arriving soon? Still haven't been charged and it's processing.

I saw quite a few black 7+ in Phoenix Apple stores available for reservation this morning, mostly AT&T, but some Verizon as well.
Too bad the order I placed *yesterday* went to PFS yesterday as well... I might have had a better shot in the next day or two on Rose Gold 7+ 256. (None available in PHX this morning). Oh well. Either way, in 2-3 weeks or less I'll have one

Sounds too messy to cancel then. But processing is an easy cancel. Just wait until you have your phone in hand though!

I felt the same way but since my phone showed no signs of changing to shipped anytime soon, I figure if for any reason Apple screws me over with my reservation not being available (worst case scenario), it appears as if phones are arriving to the stores on a daily basis now, so I figure I'd still be able to snag one in some store between now and the time it would take for my pre-order to arrive.
This is so awesome! Thanks for posting. I'm in St. Louis and the phone I ordered that is still processing "in stock" there. So I made the reservation and I'm going to pick it up in half hour! Woohoo!
My order is still processing, and there are no phones in stock in my state. The wait continues.
